SASTRA University is one of the premier deemed university which is exclusively private university located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It was established in the year 1984 and it has been accredited with the NAAC with Grade ‘A+’. In the presently available NIRF 2023 University rankings SASTRA University is placed at 28th position in university rankings.
Currently, SASTRA has numerous Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate courses in the Faculties of Engineering, Science, Humanities, Management, Law and Education. Some of the courses offered are the Bachelor of technology-Btech, master of technology-Mtech, bachelor of commerce-Bcom, master of commerce-Mcom, bachelor of business administration -BBA, master of business administration-MBA, bachelor of science-Bsc, master of science-Msc, bachelor of laws LLB, bachelor of art-BA, master of art-MA, bachelor of education-BEd among others. 1. Aspirants should have completed 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized central or state board with minimum percentage in the range of 40-50% depending upon the course applied for. The cutoffs vary across scholarships and colleges, while science and engineering programs require 60-70% marks in PCM subjects.
2. Undergraduate arts, commerce, and law applicants require 50-60% aggregate marks in 10+. There are certain specialization programs for which extra requirements like CLAT score for law are required.
3. Admission to PG programs in all the fields provided at different universities need a graduation degree of 50-60% in the relevant bachelor’s degree depending on the course and the branch of the course.
4. Even courses such as MBA and MCA need qualification like bachelor degree, valid test scores in CAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT tests, etc work experience.
5. For research programs, having a postgraduate degree in the particular stream is compulsory usually with not less than 55% marks or GATE/NET qualification is must.
6. The students of reserved category enjoy restricted concessions in the eligibility criteria. International students also have definite qualifying standards to apply for the programs.
