The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Apeejay Stya University Gurgaon is one of the number journalism schools in India with courses in undergraduate and postgraduate level. Founded in 2010, it has transformed into one of the most recognized mass communication schools by offering an industry-focused programme, research climate, a successful faculty, sophisticated infrastructure and extensive connections with the industry. Apeejay Stya University is a University Grants Commission recognized university, accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council with ‘A’ Grade and ranked 101-150 among universities in India by National Institutional Ranking Framework 2023.
The School offers undergraduate programmes such as the BA (Hons) Journalism and Mass Communication, BA Film Production and Direction, Post Graduate Diploma programmes in Advertising & Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism. The semester examination dates are released in January and June of each year, and the entrance examination takes place in May and June.
The School has always had a very good placement record in terms of top media companies and corporates recruiting students every year. Prominent recruiting companies are Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (Times Group), HDFC Bank Ltd., Reliance Group, Network18 Group, Radio Mirchi, etc. More than 85% of the students who appeared for placements got placed with average salary offers of 4-6 LPA for undergraduate courses and 5-8 LPA for postgraduate programs. The highest remuneration offered was 9 LPA.
