Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University is a state university of Uttarakhand in India and is located at Badshahithaul, Tehri Garhwal. Established in 2016, the Government of Uttarakhand founded the university with an aim to offer higher education to the hilly parts of the state. This university is acknowledged by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. The college has an accreditation from NAAC with ‘A’ grade which shows that the quality of education imparted is very high. According to the NIRF ranking of 2023, Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University fell under the band 101-150 in overall ranking and ranked 71 among the Universities.
University provides following courses of Bachelors, Masters, Diploma and research programs in various faculties like arts, commerce, science, engineering, management, pharmacy, law etc. Among some of the most sought after courses include B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, B.A, M.A, M.Com., L.L.B., B.Pharm and M.Pharm. Application process begins in the month of May every year for all the courses that are offered at undergraduate as well as post graduate level. This university also has its own test SDST for admissions into the university. The exam dates for the batch of 2024 have not been declared yet but it is expected that the same will be published on the official website shortly. The selected candidates then attend the respective state level counselling for the purpose of seat allotment.
The university has industrial tie-ups with numerous government, national, and international organizations to help the students in their placements. Some of the top recruiters in India are Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HDFC Bank, Federal Bank and PharmEasy. Total 51 students got placed in various companies in the academic year 2022 with more than 75% of the eligible students getting placed with an average salary package between 3-5LPA. The highest remuneration paid was 9 LPA. The university also has an active training and placement cell that helps the students practice for the interviews and offer internships.
