St. Joseph University Dimapur has a range of courses in various fields of study such as science, commerce, arts, computer applications, social work, etc. and at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The eligibility criteria may differ from one department to the other and for certain courses. For BSc programs such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, applicants should have passed their class XII with minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCM/PCB/PCMB. Applicants who want to apply for BA in Economics, English, Education, History should have passed Class 12th in any stream with minimum 45% marks. The accepted qualifying exams which are recognized are HSCE/CBSE/ISC. It is an entrance exam based on the scores of class 12th for merit.
Some of the courses offered at the University include BCom, BBA, BSW, BA, BSc, BCA, MA, MSc, MCA, MCom. The streams are sciences, social sciences, commerce, computer applications among others.

For admission in BA programs like English, Economics, Education, a candidate should have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks obtained from any recognized board. University level courses such as BBA, BCA take class 12 pass certificate mark sheet and marks in Account/Math/computer stream. For UG admissions, SJU accepts score cards from national level exams such as CBSE, ICSE.

St. Joseph University Dimapur provides PhD programs in Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Education, and other departments.
