For MA in Social Work, the pass criteria is Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks. This means that for MPH in Public Health, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree relevant to the course they are applying for, preferably with at least 50% marks scored in their previous degree from a recognized university. Concession in fees is awarded based on marks secured in TISSNET/CAT/GMAT/CMAT or other National Level Tests like UGC NET or JRF as per the course. Some of the popular courses are Masters in Development studies where students are selected on the basis of TISSNET, CAT, XAT scores; the other is Masters in Sustainability Science where students are selected on the basis of TISSNET, GATE and NET.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences Dehradun is a well-known university providing a number of UG programs in various fields of study like Economics, English Literature , Political Science , Sociology, Psychology , Social Work , Media Studies & Applied Psychology . According to the course structure and duration of the program, the candidate should have passed 10+2 from any recognized board to be eligible to join the program. These include CBSE, CISCE, and State Boards as among the accepted qualifying exams. The institute allows admission through scores obtained in the entrance exams such as JEE Main, CAT, CLAT, SAT, ATMA.
The UG courses include: BA Economics, BA English Literature, BA Political Science, BA Psychology, BA Social Work, and BA Media Studies and Applied Psychology. The two streams are humanities, and social sciences. Application for admission to these courses with the start date from August 2024 is available from June 1 to June 15. The steps in the process include registration, writing an entrance test, group discussion and then an interview. It is prepared up to July 30 and the final merit list is declared.
