Telangana University Nizamabad - Admission, Courses, Fees & Rankings 2024

Telangana University is a state university located in the city of Nizamabad in the newly formed state of Telangana, established in 2006 under Government of Telangana. This institution has been accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and it has also received a B grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In the recently released NIRF Rankings 2023, Telangana University has been ranked on the NIRF’s 101-150 universities in India band. 

The faculty of the university includes faculties of Arts, Commerce & Business Management, Education, Law, Science and Social Sciences offering Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate Courses. Some of the most sought after programmes are the Under Graduate programme – BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, Post Graduate Programme – MA, MSc, MCom, LLB, Under Graduate Teaching Programme – BEd, Post Graduate Teaching Programme – MEd and Doctoral Programme – PhD. The admission process usually take place in May each year while the examinations are held in march/ April and November/December in accordance to the semester basis. It comes with an application form and a university entrance exam for some programs posted on the internet.

Telangana University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks for general category candidates while the minimum percentage required for candidate belongs to SC/ST/OBC category is 45%. 

2. For admission into UG courses, the candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination. It depends on the course taken by the student; some may pay as low as 5% while others may pay up to 20%.  

3. For PG courses, candidate must have passed his/her relevant bachelor’s degree with at least the required percentage.

4. For the research degrees such as Ph.D., the candidate must have passed the post-graduation examination in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks.  

5. I accept that reserved category candidates may have got lower percentage criteria in their qualifying examination according to government norms.  

6. The passing marks in the entrance test may be another criterion in addition to these depending on the course or as mentioned in the admission notification by the university.

Telangana University Placements 2024

This university has also established placement cell that helps reputed companies to recruit final year students from the university. The recruiters that mainly recruit through campus placements include Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, and Tech Mahindra. The highest salary that has been received during the 2024 placements at IIT Kharagpur was Rs 10,00,000 per annum offered by Microsoft. It was approximately Rs.60000 per month and the average salary package was approximately Rs.6 lakh per annum. Around 30 to 35% of students from the batch got placed through campus interviews in sectors such as IT, analytics, consulting & engineering etc. The university has been established with a separate training and placement dept to facilitate 100% placements by attracting more companies and training the students for placement programs.
