UAS Raichur Today, the University of Agricultural Sciences Raichur (UAS Raichur) comprises a wide variety of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in different disciplines like Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering, Dairying, Fisheries Science, Home Science, Forestry, Food Technology, etc. Approval of the course differs with departments of the university – Those interested in BSc Agriculture should produce their 12th standard certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Maths and scores above 50% on average. BTech Agricultural Engineering provides 12th pass in Physics, Chemistry, Maths with 45% marks. The aspirants should have completed their 12th standard from any recognized board with minimum 45% marks to be eligible for BSc Home Science. All the UG programs allow students based on national level tests as NEET, KCET, COMEDK etc.
Other University programs such as MSc Agriculture, MBA Agribusiness, MFSc Fisheries Science admitted candidates with bachelor’s degree in related discipline with a minimum of 55% marks for the general category. MTech Agricultural Engineering programme for admission to the course requires passing in BTech Agricultural Engg/ BSc Agriculture Engineering degree. Admission is strictly based on entrance examination for all the PG programmes including PGAT by UAS Raichur, ICAR and GATE. The 2024 admission is expected to be announced in Dec 2023. Students may choose to apply online or use the traditional way of applying. The admission process such as application review, preparation of merit list and counseling will take place in may-July 2024 for PG/ UG programs. This will be in line with the management’s policy of merit, reservation, special categories eligibility and distribution of the available seats among the various departments. The academic session is expected to start in August of the year 2024 for all the campuses of the university.
The University of Agricultural Sciences Raichur (UAS Raichur) is a university in the city of Raichur that specializes in offering courses in agricultural sciences for students seeking to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate levels of education. For online application, check the admission portal section of the school’s website, then provide your details to register. For offline admission, download the application form from the university website on the admission link and submit it along with the necessary fee at the admission counter of the university. Enclose self-attested copies of the documents mentioned above, complete and sign the undertaking form and send the same on or before the date mentioned above along with the application fee in the form of a demand draft only.
The flow of steps to apply is to register on the portal on the website and enter the personal and academic details, scan and upload the photograph, signature and documents to verify the category/caste, pay the application fee and finally submit the form. It is important to note that application fees may differ depending on which program with which the applicant is applying. Applications are screened and candidates who clear the screening process have to attend counseling sessions according to the schedule provided before the final placement of the candidates.
- Every university has its own criteria for admitting students to M.Sc programs, with the most common one being passing the qualifying examination. For most programs, it is expected that the candidate possesses a B.Sc degree in the relevant subject and a minimum passing percentage as a measure.
- For M.Sc Agriculture and allied subjects, candidates having B.Sc Agriculture degree are welcome to apply. The minimum percentage criteria are generally in the range of 50-60% percentage of marks in B.Sc.
- To be considered for M.Sc in Basic Sciences such as Mathematics, Physics and the like, applicants must have completed their B.Sc in the same subject from a recognized institution. It ranges from 50-55% to clear every course as the minimum pass mark.
- Apart from the academic performance, candidates may also be required to write an entrance test held by UAS Raichur for admission in certain M.Sc courses. Entrance test and academic scores are taken into account in the admission process.
- There might also be personal interview in some departments before final merit list and selection is done containing performance of the candidates.
- Candidates are appointed strictly on merit – where merit entails qualifying academic marks, entrance examinations where applicable, interviews etc., before the seat is assigned. Government policies regarding reservation are implemented when distributing seats.

2. Choose the M.Sc. program of your choice and also read through the various guidelines that are set for the program you wish to apply for. Some of the programs offered are M.Sc/ The college also has an affiliated junior college that is co –educational. in fields such as Agricultural Biotechnology, Entomology, Genetics & Plant Breeding etc.
3. To begin the process, one has to register on the university admission portal and obtain a unique login ID and password.
4. It is necessary to complete the online application form and to enter all the data about candidate, including personal information, academic background, contact information, etc.
5. For this, the candidate has to upload scanned copies of some documents such as the passport photograph, the signature, educational qualification certificates, and caste certificate if required, in the format and size as prescribed.
6. Pay the application fee in online mode only through the use of debit/ credit card, net banking etc.
7. It is recommended that one should always double check all the information he might have filled in the application before he submits it.
8. Copy the confirmation/acknowledgment page for further use and Save the page for future reference.
9. Visit website frequently for merit list or selection status or other admission process after applying for the respective course. In case of any clarification related to the university admission cell, contact them.
- To join M.Tech programmes candidates should have passed B.Tech/B.E. or its equivalent degree in the area of specialization of the subject to be taught.
- Admission is done through merit in the PGCET that is conducted every year by the Karnataka Examination Authority. Candidates also required cutoff marks in PGCET to qualify themselves for the exam.
- In some of the seats, it has been observed that the GATE qualified candidates are given preference or even they are given some relaxation in terms of PGCET cutoff. There are chances that some of these seats may also be available only for the candidates qualified in GATE.
- The last round is the rank of students in PGCET along with their accomplishment in the corresponding qualifying bachelor’s degree. B. Tech/B. E. and minimum aggregate marks required is given below:E. is 50% (45% for SC/ST/Cat-‘one’ candidates).
- Another category that is allowed to be sponsored by organizations is candidates that work in some specific organizations and can be exempted from sitting for the entrance examination. Their selection is based on merit to show that they have the academic record and experience required for the position.
- According to government norms and regulations, there is also system of reservations for seat in different M.Tech disciplines.
1. Visit the university website or check a specific admission notification to know when applications for M.Tech courses are open. They normally occur during the period of March- April.
2. Choose the course/specialization of M.Tech which you are interested in pursuing there – you can choose from Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Processing and Food Technology etc.
3. Applications for the universities are done online and when they are on, download the application form and the prospectus from the university website. The following may include the eligibility criteria, any documents which may be needed etc.
4. Completing an application and submitting all necessary documents to the appropriate authority by the set date is crucial. Such documents include 10th and 12th passing certificates, under graduation degree certificates and mark sheets, caste certificate if any, etc.
5. If selected for any post, then you will have to appear for an entrance test, as well as an interview round. The university has its own standards for admitting the candidates in the M.Tech course which includes entrance exam, personal interview etc.
6. Once you have been offered a place in this courses, you are expected to pay the admission fee before the stated time. Complete any outstanding paperwork and come for collection of the letter of admission.
7. Present original documents for vetting during the enrollment into the program on the mentioned date to the college.
