University of Jammu is a state university located in the city of Jammu, in the Jammu and Kashmir state of India. This college was founded in the year 1969, and it enjoys the affiliation of the UGC and has received the NAAC accreditation grade ‘A+’. According to NIRF rankings 2023, University of Jammu stands in the 101-150 band and in the category of Universities, it secured 51.
There are a variety of programmes in the university in different fields of study at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels including sciences and social sciences, arts, education, law, business administration, engineering and technology. Among the most preferred programs are BTech, MTech, BBA MBA, BCA MCA, BA, MA, BEd, LLB, LLM etc. Generally the admission process is in May every year and the examinations are held in July. Applications for admission to the 2024 batch would begin in May 2023. The admission is done either based on the national/state level entrance examination or based on merit of the qualifying examination.
University of Jammu has a very functional placement bureau that deals with the recruitments of students in their final semester. Some of the most popular industries for recruitment include the IT industries such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, etc., Banking and Financial Industries such as SBI, ICICI, HDFC, etc., Industries like Tech Mahindra, HCL, etc., BPO Industries such as Cognizant, etc., and Manufacturing Industries such as L&T, etc. Many MNCs like Google, Amazon, etc also recruit graduates. In 2023, the maximum salary package was up to 32,000 per month and the median salary package was 65000 per month.

University of Jammu Placements 2024
University of Jammu is also having an active placement cell, through which they are getting job placements for their students. The top and regular recruiters in this campus include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and Tech Mahindra. The largest number of placements done in 2023 were for Microsoft with an offered salary package of 24 LPA. A median wage can be found in between 3.5-5 LPA. More than 550 companies had visited the campus while 60% of students got placed through campus placements. The employment sectors for the major hires include Information Technology, Banking and Financial Institutions, and Education and Teaching professions.
