The Uttarakhand University of Horticulture & Forestry (UUHF) was established in 2011 as a state university in Bharsar, Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand. UUHF is also accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and affiliated to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university has received better National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grade of B+. According to the NIRF rankings, which were recently released for the year 2023, UUHF stands at 101 among agricultural universities in India.
In horticulture, forestry and allied sciences, the university provides various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in different fields of specialization. Some of the leading courses at UUHF are BSc in Forestry, Horticulture, Food Science, Sericulture, Agriculture and MSc in Horticulture, Pomology, Floriculture, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Food Science among others. The admission process usually begins in May every year and the university administers an entrance examination in June /July for the various programmes. The last date to apply for the 2024-25 academic session would be in the month of May 2024. All exams are usually written between December and January months.
The placement and internship cell of UUHF is always working actively to get placements and internships for the students in different companies and organizations. Some of the leading recruiters are ITC, Parle Agro, Dabur India, Mother Dairy, Britannia Industries, Godrej Agrovet etc At UUHF more than 80 companies visit the campus for the campus placements every year. The median salary offered to the students has been between 4-6 lakhs per annum while the highest salary was 16 lakhs per annum. The overall placement percentage has been over 85% for the last three years which speaks about the industry demand of the university’s academic programmes.

1. Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in science/agriculture/commerce stream with minimum 50 % marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidates).
2. The eligibility criteria for BSc programs includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics as subjects of 10+2 standard. For BCom/BA, students should have relevant subjects.
3. For MSc/PhD admissions, a candidate needs to be a graduate in the concerned specialisation with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
4. University based entrance examination is compulsory for some of these courses like BSc Agriculture, BTech Food Technology, MSc Horticulture etc.
5. Candidature relaxation of 5% marks in eligibility criteria is granted to those candidates who belong to Uttarakhand or possess permanent domicile certificate.
6. It shall be noted that the reservation policy of the Uttarakhand state shall be applicable to the distribution of seats. In addition to merit, state domicile requirements shall be considered
