Uttaranchal University is a private university which is located in Dehradun of the newly formed Uttarakhand state of India. It was set up in 2012 and since then it has become one of the premier universities in North India and have NAAC A+ grading. Undergraduates, postgraduates, and doctoral studies are available as various programs and courses in faculties of engineering, law, management, sciences, education, etc. According to the NIRF 2023 University Ranking, Uttaranchal University has secured rank 65 in University category, which shows that the quality of education provided by the university is very high. 

This means that it has many programs of study which are available at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies levels. Some of the popular courses offered are Btech, MBA, BSC, B.A LLB, BDes, Mtech, MCA and Ph.D. These courses are aimed at students seeking admission to programs offered by the university through National / State Level Examinations like JEE Main, CAT, CLAT, CUET etc The admission process normally starts in the month of May every year and the classes start in July /August. Final examinations or end semester examinations are usually conducted in December and May and the results are released within a month. But the onset of the forthcoming academic session 2024 is planned in the last week of July.

Uttaranchal University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Students who want to pursue undergraduate programs must have pass 12th grade or its equivalent from a recognized board with minimum of 50% marks. Certain programs may have specific subjects as prerequisites to admission or entry into the 12th grade.

2. For the postgraduate program, the students require having completed a relevant bachelor’s degree with not less than 50 percent of the aggregate from a recognized university. A few programs cannot be completed in bachelor’s degree without a certain specialization. 

3. For master’s and doctoral programmes, the students must have a relevant master’s degree with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Additional tests such as the entrance examination or interview can be necessary for admission.

4. For diploma and certification programmes, students with a minimum of 10+2 passed can apply. Sometimes, it might be necessary to have the relevant work experience for some of the programs offered by the university.  

5. Restriction criteria should be met where candidate minimum age should be 17 years for undergraduate courses and no upper age limit.

6. The minimum academic criteria may be relaxed for the candidates belonging to the reserved category as per the government guidelines. Such candidates require other additional bridge courses to be accomplished.
