Vaagdevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (VIPS) is one of the reputed pharmacy college situated at Warangal, Telangana. It was set up in 1997, recognized by AICTE, New Delhi and PCI, New Delhi and accredited with NAAC and holds B++ grade. According to NIRF Ranking 2023 VIPS is on 75th position among pharmacy colleges of India. 

VIPS aims to provide quality pharmacy education through its programs such as B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D and PhD. B.Pharm course has a total strength of intake of one hundred students every academic year. The admissions are given according to the ranks scored in EAMCET. For the batch starting in the year 2024, EAMCET is to be conducted in the month of May, 2024 and the ensuing admissions process will be in the month of June, 2024. VIPS also provides M.Pharm in 4 specilizations of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacy Practice. The Pharm.D program was initiated in the year 2011 with a seating capacity of 60 students per year. 

VIPS has a good placement record and many of the top pharma companies and hospitals come to the college for placements. The major players in recruitment include Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Aurobindo Pharma, Hetero Drugs, Natco Pharma, Cipla, Lupin, Sun Pharma etc., and many multispecialty hospitals. About 85+ percent of the students got placed in 2022 with an average package ranging from Rs. 2.5 lakhs to Rs. 4.5 lakhs per annum. The maximum offered salary was Rs. 8 lakhs per annum. Vaagdevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. For BPharm program, candidates should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, mathematics or biology subjects as the main subjects and must have secured minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved category) in the said subjects.  

2. For MPharm programs, the candidate should possess BPharm degree from any university recognized by any Indian University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate( 50% for SC/ST/OC category). While the qualification of GPAT is desired it is not mandatory.

3. For Pharm D programmes, the candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics as optional subjects and should have secured not less than 50% marks in the optional subjects. Lateral entry is also possible through direct admission to the second year after completing the BPharm degree.  

4. For admission to PhD programs, the candidates must have passed MPharm/MS Pharm with minimum 55% aggregate marks. Candidates should also have cleared the GPAT/NET examination.

5. For all programs, maximum age must be twenty two years for general category candidates as on date of admission. There is a provision for a relaxation of upper age by 5 years for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

6. It is an autonomous institution where admission is done through state/national level entrance exams. Without entrance score, students are admitted based on academic ability according to the qualifying exams.

There are several programs offered at Vaagdevi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (VIPS) in the field of pharmacy including the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. AICTE and PCI approved institute which is affiliated to JNTUA University, Anathapuramu. 

VIPS also has a 4-year B.Pharm program and has an annual intake capacity of 60 students. The annual fees for B.Pharm is INR 55,000. The M.Pharm is a two-year course with an intake of 18 students per specialization and is offered in four specializations namely Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy. The fees structure of M.Pharm is about INR 85,000 to INR 95,000 per annum according to the selected programmes. 

This program is also available in different fields of pharmaceutical science. This institute has well equipped laboratories, library, museums, animal house and efficient faculty members. A median emoluments of the salary package that is offered to the students lies between rupees two lakhs to rupees four lakhs per annum. Of the total strength of the students who appeared for placements through on-campus drives, about 85% of the students of the 2021 batch got placed.
