Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) Kota is one of the largest and popular open universities in Rajasthan which offers distance education in various stream. The eligibility criteria may differ depending on the department and the course needed. BCom and MCom courses are offered in the Faculty of Commerce and candidate should have min 50% in qualifying test. Faculty of Social Work provides the following course for the candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination. BLISc is offered by Faculty of Library Science for the Bachelor’s degree holders with minimum 50% marks and MLISc is also offered. Faculty of Science provides BSc in subject such as Maths, Physics etc., where the student must have passed 10+2 Science stream. Faculty of Management provides the diploma in management for the candidate passed 10+2 and Bachelor and Master in Management for the candidate passed Bachelor degree. CBSE, RBSE, NSQF are few of the exams accepted across the departments and courses of this university/ Some of the courses also have experience as a criterion for admission in this university. The programmes of study provided in VMOU Kota for 2024 session contain BCom, BA, BSc, BLiSc, BSW, BCA, MCA, MSW, MA, MCom etc.

VMOU Kota provides many undergraduate programs in faculties of arts, commerce, science, computer applications, travel & tourism management, and others. Some of the most common undergraduate programs are B.A. B.Com, B.Sc, BCA. Eligibility is always determined by the type of course involved – to pursue B.A, one requires a higher secondary qualification in any group with a least 45% average marks. Accepted Transfer Certificates are only of RBSE, CBSE or any another state board equivalent to it. The minimum criteria for B.Com admission include passing of class 12th in any stream, preferably commerce discipline and with mathematics or accountancy or economics or business studies subjects, and securing minimum 45-50% marks in RBSE/CBSE or other state board. BCA course can be pursued by 12th pass student of any stream with mathematics as additional subject, and the student have to secure 45-50% marks in qualifying examination like RBSE or CBSE etc.
Ph.D. programs are offered by Vardhman Mahaveer Open University which is located in Kota, Rajasthan, and the University has departments of its own. Concerning the admission requirements for Ph.D., it is essential to note that this may vary according to the department. For Ph.D. in Management, candidates should have a master degree in the respective field as well as the candidates should have secured at least 55% marks. The acceptable qualifying tests include Common Admission Test (CAT), Management Admission Test (MAT), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Armed Forces Talent Search (ATMA). For teaching English for Ph.D, applicants must have a master’s degree in English with minimum 55% marks. The UGC NET qualification and the entrance examination conducted by the VMOU Jaipur are considered valid.
The Computer Science and Information Technology Ph.D. program entails a B.Tech/M.Tech degree in Computer Science or IT stream and they should have scored 60% in their exams.
The MBA program of Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota is delivered through various departments, which functions based on specializations. The specialisations offered by the finance department are MBA in financial management which accepts CAT /MAT/ATMA admission test. The eligibility is that the candidates should be a bachelor’s degree holder and the percentage should be more than fifty percent. Eligibility for MBA in the Marketing Management is offered by the Marketing department which accepts CMAT/ATMA scores. Human Resource department has a employee who is an MBA in Human Resource Management with CAT/XAT level aptitude and a graduate with 55% aggregate pass. Information Technology offering MBA IT and MBA e-Business accept CMAT/ATMA score MBA Information Technology MBA e-Business. The Operations department provides MBA in Operations Management and MBA in Supply Chain Management, The Admission Criteria of CAT/MAT score along with batch degree of 60% marks.
