Vidyashilp University also known as VSU, is a private university located in Bangalore, India. VSU was set up in 2018 and is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India, and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. In the first cycle of NAAC accreditation in 2021, the University has achieved a B++ grade. According to the NIRF rankings 2023, announced recently, Vidyashilp University is positioned in the range of 101-150 among universities in India.
VSU has diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in faculties of Engineering, Law, Liberal Arts, Design, Commerce and Management, Life Sciences, Education, and Visual Media. The most popular undergraduate courses are B.Tech, BBA, BA, B.Des while the postgraduate courses are MBA, M.Tech, MA and M.Des. The intake of the 2024 academic batch is expected to start in January 2023. VSU administers it’s own entrance exam, Vidyashilp Entrance Test (VET) every year in the months of March-May for undergraduate programs and GATE score for M.Tech programs. Specific dates for the exams will be declared shortly on the university’s website. There are opportunities through a single office called Career Advancement Cell in each college.
Since it offers numerous industry specific courses, Vidyashilp University has maintained a very good placements track record for the passing out batches. More than 85% of the eligible students got placed in the academic year 2022 in campus recruitment drives conducted by leading companies such as Capgemini, Infosys, Wipro, HSBC, Deloitte, Amazon, IBM, Accenture, Uber etc with an average salary package of 7 LPA. The maximum number of offers made was up to 15 LPA. Some of the major recruiting domains have been identified as being IT services, analytics, consulting, e-commerce, and core engineering. In order to enhance the employability of future batches, the university has plans to provide focused career counselling and preparation to get the cent percent placements.

1. Applicants should have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized central or state board with minimum percentage as under: The marks required are generally 50 to 60 percent for arts and commerce stream and 60 to 70 percent for science and engineering stream.
2. Candidates who want to take admission in undergraduate engineering courses such as B.Tech, have to pass in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 along with minimum marks as prescribed by the university and entrance test scores like KCET/ COMEDK.
3. Candidates who have passed graduation from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks can apply for 2 year MBA and 5 year Integrated MBA programs. Other important requirements include valid scores in CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA.
4. M.Tech and M.Sc courses require a minimum of a Bachelors degree in the same or allied field with 50-60% aggregate marks from a university recognized by UGC.
5. The students must meet equivalent academic standards and language proficiency that includes IELTS/TOEFL scores.
6. For candidates belonging to SC/ST or Defence/ PWD there may be certain concessions in minimum eligibility marks of 5-10% as per government norms.
