YBN University Ranchi provides a number of courses in under graduate and post graduate levels in the fields of engineering, management, Science, Humanities and more. It has also noted that the requirement of eligibility differs from department to department as well as courses offered in every department. The departments of engineering such as CS, IT, ECE, mechanical, civil, etc, demand the applicant to secure at least 60% marks in the subjects of physics, chemistry, mathematics in 10+2 examinations. The accepted entry tests include JEE Main, SRMJEEE, WBJEE and more. For BBA and MBA programs, that have no restriction to stream, 50% in 10+2 level is acceptable along with other standard tests such as CAT, MAT, XAT etc. Science departments such as biotechnology, microbiology among others, have their admission requirements being 10+2 in the science stream with a minimum of 55% pass as well as having to sit and pass JEE Main and or NEET exams. Mass communication, journalism, design programs admit students based on 50% in any stream of the qualifying examination and NPAT, CUCET scores.
Undergraduate programs are taught in engineering, sciences, arts, commerce, management, and many more courses in addition to postgraduate and diploma programs.
The YBN University Ranchi also provides admission through online and offline mode for the various courses of under graduate and post graduate level.
For the online application, the candidates are required to go to the official website of the YBN University www.ybnuranchi.ac.in. They have to decide on the preferred program, complete the on-line application form, and submit copies of required documents in compliance with admission requirements. An application fee has to be paid online by using credit/debit card, net banking.

YBN University Ranchi provides various specializations of undergraduate degrees in fields such as engineers, science, arts, commerce, etc. These requirements differ with the department and the course you wish to take. In BTech programs such as Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical students must have passed their 12th class with Physics, Chemistry Maths, and need to secure 60%aggregate marks. This university accepts JEE Main, UGET, YBNUET examinations for students to write. For BSc programs such as Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, the qualification is 12th Science stream pass in 50% of the cases. YBNUET and a qualifying diploma for lateral entry admissions are considered valid.
University has full time 3-year bachelor’s degree courses in faculties of technology, sciences, arts, commerce, business administration, computers etc. The streams and courses include Computer Science and Electronics, Mechanical, Civil (For the B.Tech), Physics- Chemistry- Maths- Botany- Zoology- (For the B.Sc), Economics- English- Psychology- (For the B.A), B.Com (The regular and the honours), B.B.A, B.C.A.
YBN University Ranchi offers several programs in BTech in the different faculties of engineering. CSE department of this institute provides BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, where admission is done based on JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and YBN Entrance examination scores. For the eligibility the candidate should have passed the 12th standard or equivalent with minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The department of Electrical Engineering offers the programme of BTech in Electrical Engineering and gives admission based on the scores of JEE Main, GATE Exam and YBN Entrance Exam. Candidates needs 50 percent in Physics chemistry and Maths in 12th boards. Civil Engineering is one of the popular department in RBU which offers BTech degree in Civil Engineering and accepts the scores of JEE Main/YBN Entrance exam. Immersiveness is 50% marks in 10+2 level with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects. Electronics and Communications department of B.Tech is available in Electronics and Communications where acceptable scores include JEE Main, YBN University Entrance, KIITEE. It is compulsory for applicants to have passed 10+2 level examination with minimum 55% marks in PCM subjects.
YBN University Ranchi admits students in PhD in various departments for Engineering, Management Sciences, Pure and Applied Sciences, Humanities and many others. Admission requirements may also differ depending on the department and may allow students with lower results to get into a PhD program. To be admitted in Engineering PhD at the University, candidates must have Master’s degree in a related discipline with pass of 55% marks or equivalent GPA/CGPA. The CBT is mandatory to complete; a valid GATE/NET score is mandatory as well. Accepted exams includes GATE, CSIR-NET, UGC-NET. To enter Management PhD, candidates must have Masters degree with minimum 55% marks and have a valid CAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT scores. Some of the courses accepted tests are CAT, GMAT, MAT, XAT and the like. Science PhD holder required Master’s degree in the concerned subject with minimum aggregate 55% marks. Valid GATE/CSIR/UGC-NET score required. GATE, CSIR-NET, UGC- NET/JRF are the essential tests for admission. For Humanities & Social Sciences post graduate degree in relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and UGC-NET/ JRF qualification is mandatory.
