Dronacharya College of Engineering is in Gurgaon, Haryana, India and the College provides various Under Graduate and Post Graduate engineering courses in disciplines of Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Civil engineering. B.Tech programs have certain prescribed norms of admission applicable to most department and these are at least 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and mathematics as pre-requisites and any other one of chemistry/ biotechnology /biology/ computer science / information technology with at least 50% of marks in aggregate. It has a consideration of the national level entrance exams like JEE Mains, Haryana DET, JEE Advanced for admission purpose. Particular courses such as B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering use exams like JEE Mains, Haryana DET and CUCET while B.Tech in Electrical Engineering also accepts GATE test.
The institute provides only full-time B.Tech degree programs in 6 streams spread over the period of 4 years. The B.Tech courses available are Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Soon after national/ state level entrance exams, admissions to these programs for 2024 batch will be open. For the JEE Mains the exams are set for January-February 2023 and for Haryana DET the exams are planned for June 2023. Depending on the merit score in such entrance tests there will be counselling and document verification in stages such as state counselling, national level counselling before the final admission to the concerned seat. Those selected will be sent admission confirmation, registration details, details for orientation as well as details on when and how the classes will commence.

Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. JEE Main Rank: Admissions to all the courses of the institute are done solely through the ranks/scores of the applicants in the JEE Main. This means that obtaining a higher rank in the JEE Main exam increases the possibility of being selected.
2. Class 12th Percentage: It means applicants must have passed Class 12 board exams and should have scored minimum 60-65% or above to be eligible. Higher percentages improve chances.
3. Admission Test Score: Candidates are required to sit for an admission/counseling test and only those candidates who have been short-listed are allowed to participate. This score is used to make the final admission decision and this implies that the test score is a key determinant of the admission process.
4. Choice Filling: While making the choices, applicants enter their preferences for the branches and quota. This means that selection chances vary with the branch of study, applicant preferences, and the remaining vacancies.
5. Reservation Quotas: Candidates belonging to the scheduled castes/scheduled tribe, other backward classes also get admission as per the government policy and as per the government reservation policy there are some reserved seats in every branch.

1. Valid GATE score: One of the key requirements that was put forward for students seeking to join MTech programs at DCE was that they had to be GATE qualified. A valid GATE Score card is mandatory for candidates.
2. Performance in GATE: Total GATE scores will also be considered while selecting the candidates and those candidates who score higher GATE scores will be preferred. It is likely also that there will be a certain GATE score which if not attained will not be considered.
3. Performance in qualifying exam: Another factor that influences the admission is the percentage obtained in the qualifying bachelor’s degree (like BTech/B.E.). First reel and higher grades are normally expected from the candidates.
4. Performance in entrance test and/or interview: However, before final selection, candidates may also have to take DCE entrance exam or personal interview. Success in these will also determine the prospects of making selection.
5. Seats and reservations: Another point that should be considered is the number of seats allocated to each specialization. Besides, the reservation policies pertaining to the norms prescribed by the government are also valid.
