The various streams available in the KNIT Sultanpur for the batch commencing in 2024 are Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering, for which 60 seats are available in each branch every year. B.Tech programs offered at UPES require passing of UPSEE 2023 or JEE Main 2023 exams for getting admission. UPSEE 2023 examination has been scheduled for the last week of April 2023. 1. Rank of JEE Main – The rank of JEE Main plays a vital role and it carries 60% weightage in the final ranking of students. The higher the rank of a student, the higher the probability of being granted a chance to join the academy.
2. Standard X & XII Marks – Standard X & XII examination marks are given a weightage of 30% in calculating the intermediate marks. Minimum requirements are 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ST) in Boards in physics, chemistry and maths in 12th standard.
3. State Quota – As per the norms of Uttar Pradesh government, the institute reserves 10% seats for the candidates from Uttar Pradesh only.
4. Category Quota – Certain number of seats are reserved in favour of candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories of students as per the rules and regulation framed by the government of India.
5. Special sports/cultural quota seats - There are some more seats for sports and cultural quota students with better performance. It involves choosing some items while ignoring others, and this happens with specific criteria in mind.
