The various streams available in the KNIT Sultanpur for the batch commencing in 2024 are Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering, for which 60 seats are available in each branch every year. B.Tech programs offered at UPES require passing of UPSEE 2023 or JEE Main 2023 exams for getting admission. UPSEE 2023 examination has been scheduled for the last week of April 2023. JEE Main 2023 session 1 will take place on the last week of January whereas JEE Main 2023 session 2 will take place in the first week of April. The procedure followed by KNIT Sultanpur in admission into its various engineering programs for the 2024 academic session is as follows: The authorities prepare merit lists and call the candidates for counseling and seat allotment for a variety of courses depending on the entrance exams score and ranks of the candidates.
To apply online, you can go to the admission portal of the university via the university website and enter your basic details to obtain a login username and password. Then again sign in and complete the application form by entering all such details as asked, attaching documents and paying for the application fees on line. After completing the application, review the form and submit it before the due date of submission.
For online, download the admission prospectus and application form in printed format from the college campus or other centers through offline mode by paying the required fees. Please complete and send the application form with valid information accompanied by photocopy attestation. Finally, complete the application form with required fees through demand draft or cash and submit it at KNIT before the last date of form submission.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Rank of JEE Main – The rank of JEE Main plays a vital role and it carries 60% weightage in the final ranking of students. The higher the rank of a student, the higher the probability of being granted a chance to join the academy.
2. Standard X & XII Marks – Standard X & XII examination marks are given a weightage of 30% in calculating the intermediate marks. Minimum requirements are 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ST) in Boards in physics, chemistry and maths in 12th standard.
3. State Quota – As per the norms of Uttar Pradesh government, the institute reserves 10% seats for the candidates from Uttar Pradesh only.
4. Category Quota – Certain number of seats are reserved in favour of candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories of students as per the rules and regulation framed by the government of India.
5. Special sports/cultural quota seats - There are some more seats for sports and cultural quota students with better performance. It involves choosing some items while ignoring others, and this happens with specific criteria in mind.
- Application Process: The admission to KNIT is done online through application. You ought to go to their official website at knit.ac.in and check if there is a link that shows admission/application.
- Eligibility: For applying you should have passed your 10+2 or equivalent examination in physics, chemistry, and mathematics/physics, chemistry, biology with minimum 60% of marks.
- Exams Accepted: UPSEE rank, JEE Main rank or marks of the qualifying test are the basis of admission merit lists.
- Documents Needed: The documents needed for each of the Online application are - 10 + 2 mark sheet, passport size photographs, signature, Aadhaar card, caste certificate if applicable, etc.
- Application Fee: While filling the form, you are required to pay the application fee in advance. It depends on the category that the car owner falls under in terms of the fees to be paid.
- Important Dates: The admission process for most of the BTech programs begins around May or June every year for the subsequent academic session.
- These include the UPSEE ranks for entrance into the university as a student. To get enrolled into the Colleges, the students also have to pass Through UPSEE which is conducted by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh.
- Depending upon the ranks in UPSEE, the students are given B.Tech branches and the institute through counseling sessions. - To clear the admission hurdle, the general category students require at least 130 marks in UPSEE. This is due to the fact that reserved category students have lower cut-offs than the normal category students. Besides UPSEE ranks, there are also certain percentage marks in class XII exam, which are mandatory for the students.
- Seat allotment is done according to the counseling, number of seats available in the college, UPSEE rank for the students, their branch preferences and other conditions in the order of their respective ranks. It is a multidimensional process, which takes place in several cycles, enabling students to improve their decisions.
