AKGEC is one of the premier engineering institutions situated in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Set up in the year 1998, AKGEC is a government college that has been approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. The faculties of this university are approved by the Government of India and the university has been awarded ‘NAAC A’ grade. In the latest NIRF rankings for the year 2023 which was released recently, AKGEC is ranked 101 among engineering colleges in India.
AKGEC provides the facility of B.Tech and M.Tech in various disciplines of engineering such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Civil, and Chemical. The admission process for B.Tech course begins in April every year and the B.Tech is offered through UPSEE and JEE Main ranks besides, having direct admission for diploma holders. For M.Tech, any candidate having GATE qualify can apply directly. The new academic session for 2024-25 will likely begin admissions from April 2024. University semester exams are normally conducted in November- December and April-May.

1. For the BTech programmes the candidate has to qualify 10+2 or equivalent examination with the main subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics securing minimum 60 per cent marks in aggregate (55 per cent for SC/ST).
2. For admission in MTech programs, the candidates are required to have a valid BTech/BE degree in the relevant specialization with minimum of 60 % marks in the aggregate for general category and 55% for SC/ST. The candidate who has appeared GATE is given preference.
3. The candidate should have passed the 10+2+3 pattern of education with a minimum of 50% marks in the Bachelor’s degree (45% in case of SC/ST) and having Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level for admission in MCA program.
4. For MBA admission the candidate should have passed the Bachelor’s degree of any discipline from any recognized University with at least 50% marks for open category (45% for reserved category). Internet connection is also mandatory while valid CAT/MAT score is also need.
5. BPharm – Candidates seeking admission in the first year should have passed the 10 + 2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology and English with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the above said subjects in aggregate.
