Malla Reddy Engineering College is one of the private engineering colleges founded in Hyderabad, Telangana state. MREC was set up in the year 2002 and it is AICTE approved University and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution and has also received ‘A’ grade from NAAC with a cumulative grade point average of 3.31 on 4 point scale. As per the NIRF Rankings 2023 that were unveiled recently, MREC has been ranked in the 151-200 bracket in the entire India among all the engineering colleges.
The college provides the undergraduate programs in various branches of engineering along with Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The programs are semester based, the semester-end exams for which are normally taken in the months of December and May respectively each year. Admission is available through EAMCET, a common entrance test conducted in June or through Management Quota for the 2024 batch with the applications for online registration starting from February 2023. MREC has also an active placement and training cell which assists them in getting employed through campus placements. The major recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, and L & T among others. More than 500 students get placed every year itself to various reputed firms and the highest salary being offered is more than 10 LPA. According to the statistical analysis of placement records of the institute, the average placement ratio in last five years is 85 percent. Students also undergo pre-placement training and, in some cases, skill development programs as from their second year to ensure that they are fit for the various industries once they complete their studies. Other support programs; such as Personality Development Programs, Aptitude Tests and Mock Interviews also help students to secure their placements and jobs after college.
