Applied Nutrition is an undergraduate program known by the Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Applied Nutrition) that takes between 3 to 4 years to complete. Some of the areas of focus of this program include nutrition fundamentals, nutrition science, community nutrition, public health nutrition, food and nutrition and dietetics. This area helps students gain the necessary knowledge and skills regarding the nutritional needs for maintaining and improving health, as well as for addressing different diseases with the help of diets.
Holders of the 12th standard in science stream with subjects which include biology, chemistry and maths/physics are eligible for admission into B.Sc Applied Nutrition. Several colleges have the policy of allowing students who wrote the national/state level entrance examinations such as NEET UG, AIIMS MBBS, JIPMER MBBS exam marks into the institution for merit purposes. It is also important to note that some institutions also admit students on the basis of the 12th board exam percentage in science subjects.

1. 10+2 passed in science stream, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, with minimum 50% marks in any of a recognized Board.
2. B. Sc (Medical) is also open for students passed out in arts or commerce but have to do a bridge course in Biology / Maths.
3. Age must be 17 and above and is required to be assessed as of the 31st of December of the admission year.
