AIIMS Nagpur is one of the premier medical colleges in India that is under the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act 1956 which was established by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Government of India. It is one of the premier institute of national importance coming into existence in the year 2018 under PMSSY.
The permission and recognition of AIIMS Nagpur have been accorded by different regulatory bodies in Medical Education in India. It is affiliated with the Medical Council of India (MCI) and has Grade ‘A+’ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). As per the NIRF rankings of the year 2023, AIIMS Nagpur falls under the category of 201-250 of all medical colleges.
The AIIMS Nagpur is imparting the Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in medical and nursing faculties such as MBBS, MD, MS, DM, MCh and BSc/MSc Nursing. 1. Candidate should have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects from a recognized Board and should have secured not less than 60% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/OBC).
2. MBBS program required candidate’s age of 17 year as on 31st December of admission year and upper age limit of 25 year (but age of 30 years for SC/ST/OBC category candidate).
3. For the nursing program candidate must have cleared the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, chemistry Biology and English subjects Aggregate 55% marks.
4. For becoming eligible for paramedical diploma courses the candidate must have passed the Class 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university with not less than 50% marks in aggregate.
5. A candidate who wants to get into super speciality DM/MCh program must have an MD/MS or DNB degree from a medical college that is recognized by MCI and candidate must have 55% aggregate.
AIIMS Nagpur is one of the premier medical colleges in the country which has always been successful in placing its students. Several big names in the fields of healthcare, pharma and biotechnology industries take part in the recruitment process happening at AIIMS Nagpur campus. The top recruiters for the MCI approved university are Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare, and Max Healthcare for which 60% of the toppers get placed with an average salary of INR 15-18 lakhs per annum. The maximum placement reported in the graduating batch of 2024 was 1.8 LPA offered by Novartis.
