BComs in Accounting and Finance takes students from any background, without any specific standard passing requirement, and the students should have a minimum of 50% average in their 10+2 exams from any recognized board. BSW has the eligibility criteria of passing the 10+2 examinations from any stream and it is 45% for the admission. Some of the major UG programs include BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BSW with the areas of specialization.
University of Engineering and Management, Guwahati, and Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati are some of the universities which offer PhDs in several fields like Engineering Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Commerce and Management Sciences, Science and Technology and many more. The eligibility of the candidates also differs from department to department – for Engineering PhD, candidates with Master’s degree in Engineering with 60% marks or qualified in GATE are required. Science PhDs mean that candidates must possess Master’s degree in the respective subject stream with a least of 55% marks. To do Ph.D. in Social Sciences and Humanities, the candidate should have passed Master’s degree in relevant subject with 55% marks.
