Bihar Animal Sciences University of BASU in Patna offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees in Veterinary Science, Dairy Technology Fisheries Science, Animal Husbandry. The criteria of admission can vary by course and it may require minimum 50% in Physics Chemistry Biology & English and in CET examinations of CBSE/ICSE or BCECE minimum 48%. For B.Tech Dairy Technology, candidates must qualify 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology. BA/BSc Animal Husbandry has an admission process where candidates can enter through BCECE after completing any 12th science/arts/commerce examination.
University provides approximately 12 specialised streams/courses in the field of Veterinary, Animal and Dairy science. The admission process begins in January of every year wherein one has to apply through online forms for the entry tests/premiums at the national or state levels. The BCECE will be conducted in the 2nd week of April, JEE Mains in January and April, NEET is planned on May 1st and 2nd week. After the entrance test/ counseling the result for the first batch of the first provisional admission list is released by July for the next academic session 2024 for all the programs of BASU Patna and its affiliated colleges under Bachelor and Masters degree courses.
1. To find out the online application, go to the admission tab on the official website, www.basu.org.in, and apply for the course of your choice.
2. Scan the required documents such as passport sized photographs, signatures, age proofs, educational qualifications as specified and upload them.
3. Submit an online application fee through net banking/debit card/credit card or you can also generate the challan for the offline payment of the fee.
4. Upload a copy of each completed application form and supporting documents to the local post office and get a printed copy. It can be noted that in offline forms of application, there are some documents which must be self-attested.
5. To submit the application form in the offline mode, the candidates have to attach the supporting documents and the payment of the application fee to the university Registrar at the address mentioned before the last date.
6. Frequently visit the admission login to check for the selections. The selected candidates will be informed through their registered contact phone number/Email Id and the list will also be uploaded on the same portal.
7. Visit the college mentioned in the list on a specified date for documents verification and admission.
Documents Required for Admission in BASU Patna for Different Courses:
1. Registration – student wishing to join the University have to register online or through a registration form where they provide relevant details and documents.
2. Application – Based on the course type, students have to complete the registration and fill up the application form online or offline before the deadline, including the application fee.
3. The Merit List – There is always a criterion for short listing the applicants and these merit list are posted either on the official website or the notice board.
4. Counselling – Practical – The candidates who secure a seat in the entrance examination are called for counselling based on the merit list and the number of seats available in the course of their choice.
5. Admission & Fee Payment – selected candidate in the counseling they can take admission by remitting the admission fee Either through online or offline mode within the time duration.
6. Academic Session – The academic session in the institution would be in accordance to the academic calendar to be released by the University/College authorities.

1. Candidates should possess the Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized University with not less than 55% of the marks in aggregate. The discipline should relate well to BASU Patna’s programs.
2. The candidate is required to pass a written entrance examination of the university which tests the knowledge of the candidate on the subjects of the discipline he has chosen to pursue.
3. Out of all the candidates who have written the test, only a few are selected to face an interview session conducted by a team of interviewing officers from the concerned department.
