Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University is a state university founded in New Delhi, India. DPSRU was established in the year 2008 under the Government of NCT of Delhi to provide education and research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. DPSRU is affiliated to the University Grants Commission (UGC), has been endorsed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and has been accredited grade ‘A+’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In the NIRF rankings released in 2023, the DPSRU was ranked in the 101-150 band in the pharmacy category.
DPSRU includes different course in pharmaceutical sciences at the levels of bachelors, masters, and doctoral such as BPharm, MPharm, Pharm D, and PhD. Most of its programs require the students to sit for national or University entrance examination. For 2024 admissions, the major central level examination is GPAT for M.Pharm, NIPER for M.Pharm and Ph.D. programs while NEET for Pharm D and B.Pharm programs. These exams are usually held during January-June each year. The entrance examinations for other programs in universities are conducted in May-July. Exam registration, taking the entrance test, short listing for counseling rounds, document check and approval, and finally payment of fees.
DPSRU has a good placement record when it comes to the pharmacy graduates it produces. Many pharmaceutical and healthcare companies come to the campus for recruitment every year such as Sun Pharma, Lupin, Cadila Healthcare, Cipla, Glenmark, GSK, Dr Reddy’s Labs, etc. About 85% of the BPharm and PharmD graduates get placed each year and the average salary offered to them is 6.5 lakh per annum. In the placement, MPharm and PhD graduates have placement percentage above 90% with average pay packages of 8-12 lakhs per annum in research, development, quality control, and production sectors. The salary scale that is offered ranges from an offer of 6 lakhs per annum to a maximum of 18 lakhs per annum.

Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For BPharm program, the candidates should have completed their 10+2 examination in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English streams with minimum 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
2. For MPharm program the candidate must be having BPharm degree with minimum 55% of the aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST) from a recognized university.
3. Candidates applying for PharmD (Post Baccalaureate) must possess BPharm degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) and must have passed GPAT.
4. For admission to PhD program, candidates must possess MPharm/MSc degree in relevant discipline with minimum 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) from any recognized university.
5. For DPharm program, candidates need to complete their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English subjects obtaining minimum 45% in aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
6. For Diploma programs, candidates must have completed 10+2 examination from any recognized board. Minimum aggregate percentage differs from discipline to discipline.
