Dravidian University is a state university situated at Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh state of India. It was founded in 1997 and is acknowledged by the University Grants Commission of India and is NAAC accredited with B++ grade. As per the NIRF rankings for the year 2023, Dravidian University was ranked 151 amongst universities in India.
In the current website, the university lists the available courses for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate levels in faculties such as Arts, Science, Education, Management, and others. Some of the main courses offered by the university include; history/ economics/English, physics /chemistry/mathematics, education, business administration, Tamil/English/Linguistics, botany/Zoology among others as well as tourism & travel management diploma/ certificate. While the examinations are normally conducted in November-December, the results are usually released in January. It has been observed that admission process for UG/PG courses begins in the month of May every year. Online or off line application forms are available and the candidates can fill it up as their preference. It follows merit system in admission and for the students to be admitted they are required to sit for 10+2 for the UG courses and graduation for the PG courses.
With regard to the placements, several reputed organizations keep visiting the campus in search of talent, like Wipro, Dell, Cognizant, and Infosys among others. The placement records reveal that over 50 percent of the 300 students who complete their course get placed through campus interviews. The maximum salary that is offered is about Rs 5.5 Lakhs per annum while the median salary or average salary is about Rs 3 Lakh per annum. These positions include but not limited to Software Developer, System Engineer, Business Development Executive, Content Writer etc Offers were largely based on skill set development and the university plans to offer internships and increase the placement percentage in the following years.

Dravidian University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Minimum academic qualification required must be 10+2 education or its equivalent from any recognized board/ university and the candidate should have secured minimum percentage of marks varying from 40% to 60% for general candidates.
2. Applicants belonging to the reserved classification of SC/ST may get a chance to have 5% of minimum eligibility marks in the qualifying examination in general for reservation category applicants other reserved groups also vary.
3. For admission into master degree programmes the following requirements should be met among others; The candidate must possess a first degree in the same field of specialization or in a closely related discipline from a recognized university and must have obtained a minimum aggregate score as follows: 40%-60% for the general category applicants.
4. Even the graduates with the postgraduate diploma may be given admission to some of the masters programme if there are still vacancies for the lateral entry.
5. Other requirements such as entrance test score requirement which may apply to certain courses like MBA, MCA, MTech etc will be indicated in any admission notice to be circulated.
6. Applicants belonging to the reserved category can request the relaxation in the age and the number of attempts in the entrance tests and the limit of the number of programs which they are allowed to admit as per the government norms.

Dravidian University Placements 2024
Dravidian University has average percentage placement with reputed companies coming to the campus. The majorit of students are placed through campus recruitment by TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Cognizant which offered opportunities to 30% of the eligible candidates. This year, the maximum offer of Rs 8 lakhs per annum was bagged by TCS, and the average salary offered is between Rs 3 to 4 lakhs per annum. Other companies like Tech Mahindra, HCL, and Sutherland Global Services also become active in the process. Around 360 students got placements in the 2021-22 batches out of the total 1200 eligible applicants and embracing the arts, science, technology, and education streams. Thus, the university expects the number of collaborations with industry partners will increase in the future, which will help to give a better placement for talented students .
