The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) in Hyderabad offers Languages, humanities and social sciences as their specialty. EFLU was established in 2008 and the major departments in the University are English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Linguistics, Translation Studies, Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies. The eligibility requirements are different for the different departments- For English, the applicant should have a bachelor’s degree and must have secured 50% marks. For other language departments, intermediate or higher secondary level certification in the particular language is necessary. EFLU accepts UG and PG exam scores, such as BA/MA in the respective subjects, the bachelor’s degree, NET, UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE and state-level tests for its MA, MPhil and PhD courses.
The EFLU Hyderabad offers the following major courses across the fields: Master of Arts in English, Arabic, French, Spanish, Post Graduate Diploma in Translation, MPhil and PhD in Linguistics, Comparative Literature, English Language Education, Cultural Studies and many more The admission procedure for the academic year 2024 is expected to begin in March 2023. For undergraduate and postgraduate courses EFLU Entrance Test is conducted while for MPhil and PhD, a candidate must appear for the NET. Students are admitted based on the scores they obtain in examinations, their performance in interviews and previous academic performance. The University releases examination schedules and admission information in advance on their official site and or through media announcements. It is an online based application process where students are required to get themselves register online and then fill the application form, they also need to pay their fees online and they sit for the entrance examination from the centers provided.
