Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences (GUTS) is an autonomous University established to provide education in the field of Transplantation Science, situated in Ahmedabad, GUJARAT. GUTS was established in the year 2015 by the state legislature act and it is UGC recognized and MCI approved college. It has NAAC accreditation of ‘A’ grade and NIRF rank of 76 in medical ranking 2023. 

GUTS provide Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate degree courses in different departments including Nephrology, Urology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Neurology and so on. Some of the various courses done are; MD in Nephrology, DM in Nephrology, MCh in Urology, DM in Cardiology, MCh in CTVS, DM in Pulmonology and PhD. Exams are taken according to the university academic calendar every year in May – June and November – December respectively. To get into the courses, the students need to write entrance tests such as NEET PG, and then there is the counseling phase. You can apply for admission in December – January for the academic year 2024.

GUTS has tie-ups with many popular hospitals and institutes for training and placements of students. Some of the main recruiters include Apollo Hospitals, Medanta Medicity, Artemis Hospital, PD Hinduja Hospital and several state government medical colleges and hospitals. More than 80% of the eligible students get placed in our college with average salary pay scale ranging from INR 15-20 lacs per annum for senior resident jobs and INR 30+ lacs per annum for consultant jobs and faculty. Students also proceed to higher studies and research courses in several national and international leading institutions.

Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. For under graduate medical programs, the candidate must have passed 12th standard in science stream with physics chemistry and biology having minimum 50% marks for general candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/PH category.

2. For postgraduate medical degree and diploma aspirants, it is mandatory to have an MBBS degree with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) from a recognized University.

3. For nursing programs such as B.Sc., M.Sc. and PG diplomas, Candidates should have passed 12th grade in science stream for B.Sc. while B.Sc. Hence, nursing is mandatory for M.Sc. and P.G. diplomas.  

4. For any paramedical course like lab technician and radiology technician diplomas, the candidate should have completed their 12th standard in science with minimum second class grade point.

5. For Ph.D. Programs, the candidates should have post graduate degree in relevant filed with minimum 55% marks with valid NET qualification or equivalent examination certificate. 

6. For all programs there are certain basic requirements that are like the maximum age of 45 years, minimum age of 17 years and physical fitness with valid certificates.

GUTS has courses in Master of Surgery and Master of Science including General Surgery, Nephrology/ Urology, Neurology, Cardiology, Critical Care/Pulmonology, Gastroenterology/ Hepatology, Anesthesiology/ Intensive Care, Pathology/ Microbiology/ Immunology/Parasitology & Epidemiology/ Biostatistics, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Community Medicine including Family Medicine, Public Health All programmes are on campus, full time programmes of three years’ duration.

The Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences maintains a very high standard of placements for all its students every year. Notable organizations that source human talent from GUTS are Apollo Hospitals, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Intas Pharmaceuticals and the Zydus Group. In the last year, the maximum salary offered was INR 18 LPA and the average salary offered was close to INR 7 LPA. The placement percentage varies from batch to batch, but currently stands at around 85% on average. The number of recruiters has been high, and the healthy pay packages offered to the students protest the quality of education and skills obtainable at GUTS to allow the students to get good jobs.
