Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University HNBGU is one of the largest universities located in Srinagar in the state of Uttarakhand. It provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the major fields of arts, business administration, sciences, law, education, engineering, and management. Some of the major departments in the University are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Commerce, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, etc The admission process for the over departments differ – for the BSc streams, the students have to pass their 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Maths with minimum 45-50% overall for a course from a recognized board. However, for admission to BA and BCom programs, candidates are required to pass 12th standard examination in relevant discipline with 35-40% pass marks only. HNBGU accepts scores of national level entrance tests such as JEE Mains, CUET, NEET for most of the undergraduate/ postgraduate programmes and there are direct admissions based on class XII marks as well.
The University offers full-time campus based programs for undergraduate and post-graduate level in discipline of B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., B.C.A, B.S.W,LL.B, B.Ed, M.Sc., M.A., M.Com., M.Ed., M.S.W, L.L.M etc Important national level entrance examination dates through which one can apply for HNBGU are CUET – 2nd week of May, 2023 Applications for the academic year 2023/2024 are on February-March 2023 and the admission forms are available on the website of the University. Depending on the criteria of eligibility students can apply on the direct admission forms for Undergraduate/postgraduate programs or common national level tests application forms. The process of admission would involve previous academic performance as measured by class scores and/or examinations while additional counseling sessions will be used to offer provisional seats and confirmation.

To pay the admission fees for online admission, you must go to the official website of HNBGU at www.hnbgu.ac.in. If you want an offline admission process then go to the university administrative block and get a copy of the admission form. Complete it properly and enclose certified true copies of documents if any required such as Qualification certificates, photographs etc and submit the filled up application form along with the demand draft for the application fee to the Admission Section of the University.
