IIT Gandhinagar is amongst the latest of the IITs in India, and was established in the year 2008. It is an Institute of National Importance which receives the financial support of the Ministry of Education of the Indian government. IIT Gandhinagar holds the approval by the University Grants Commission of India and recognition by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ICAI and it has been accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC, the national level assessment and accreditation council. As per the NIRF 2023 Rankings revealed recently, IIT Gandhinagar stands at 35th rank in the table and 8th among Engineering colleges in India.
The BTech degrees offered at the institute Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Computer Science and Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering. It also offers MTech, MSc and PhD courses in different streams of sciences, engineering humanities and social sciences including inter disciplinary ones. The admission processes of the academic year 2024 are likely to start in Jan 2023 for BTech through JEE Advanced while Mtech and direct PhD admission through GATE. Such exams are also used for entering into specialized post graduate programs and hence exams like CEED are conducted.
IIT Gandhinagar actively engages the best corporate houses and industries across the globe to secure the placement of its students. As per the data of 2023 more than 150 companies had visited for placement drive The maximum domestic salary package provided was 56.6 LPA and the maximum international salary package provided was 106.3 LPA. Few of the Recruiters are Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, Texas Instrument, BCG, JP Morgan Chase, DE Shaw, American Express, etc. More than 9000 students got placements and the average salary offered was 17.75 LPA.

IIT Gandhinagar Placements 2024
IIT Gandhinagar is one of the leading institutions and the placements of the graduates are remarkable. The noteworthy achievement in the placement drive included more than 150 companies visiting the campus for the placement process for the cohort of 2023 and some of the leading recruiters being Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Samsung Research. The percentage of the students who were placed through Campustoplaces was about 84 percent. The maximum offer of 1.30 crore per annum was offered by an international finance company and the average salary was 16.45 LPA. Some major employers that had hired students from IITGN were IT sector, core engineering, analytics, consulting, finance and research and development.
