IIT Gandhinagar is at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, which includes the course in Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences at UG, PG and Ph.D. level. Each of them has own conditions required to consider an applicant as eligible. For admission in to the BTech program like Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering one must have passed 10+2 examination with physics, chemistry & mathematics subjects with at least 75% marks for GEN/OBC category and 65% marks for SC/ST category. This university accepts JEE Advanced, JEE Main and SAT as the entrance exams for admitting students. For MSc specialisations including Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and other related fields, candidates must have completed the relevant bachelor’s degree with aggregate percentage varying for course, discipline and category.

The admission norms for undertaking BTech programs include students who passed their Class 12 exams and secured minimum 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) was established in the year 2008 and it offers doctoral (PhD) programs in the fields of engineering as well as sciences, social sciences and humanities. The conditions to apply for the PhD programmes require that the candidate should have a Master’s degree in relevant disciplines with minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 7.5 for General and OBC candidates and 7.0 for SC, ST and PwD candidates earned in graduation and post- graduation. This means that the candidates clearing exams such as GATE/NET/JEST or any other equivalent national level exams will be considered for the qualification test. Certain particular departments provide extra tests such as ICMR to the students or UGC-CSIR NET.
