IIT Mandi located at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh currently runs BTech, MTech, MS and PhD courses in departments such as Computer Science and engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil and infrastructure engineering, Engineering physics, Material science and engineering and more. For BTech candidates, the admission require passing of exams such as JEE Advanced, JEE Main or qualify through ranks in KVPY, Olympiad. For admission to the degree of Bachelor of Science the applicant shall fulfill the requirements regarding percentages in the respective departments, Physics, Chemistry Mathematics in the 10+2 examination.
IIT Mandi provides B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Sc., M.A., M.B.A., and Ph.D. degrees in various disciplines of Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences. It includes exams namely GATE, CEED, JAM, JEE Advanced, JEE Main. Getting into the college may require one or more of the following: applying online for admission, taking entrance examinations, and going for counselling. The schedule of various exams is as follows: GATE examination is held in the second week of February whereas CEED examination is conducted in the first week of March, JEE Main examination is conducted in January and April and that of JEE Advanced is held in May every year.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Identity cards that is Aadhaar card/PAN card/Driving License/Passport having proof of identity as well as age proof and residential proof.
2. Original mark sheets and passing certificates of the qualifying examination, at least standard 10th and 12th from a recognized education board.
3. Official transcripts or certified true copy thereof of the degree certificate and all semester or year marksheets in case the application is made after graduation.
4. Caste certificate issued by competent authority to avail SC/ ST/ OBC reservation if applicable; PwD certificate, if applying under PwD reservation category.
5. Certified true copy of the migration certificate from the university or board where you completed your last education.
6. If there are any other documents, such as national level exam scorecards that would strengthen your application to the program you are applying to IIT Mandi for, then you should attach them here.
1. Show up for the JEE Advanced examination and perform well enough to secure a higher ranking. In other words, the qualifying threshold is always different every year.
2. Appear for the JoSAA counselling and enter the choice filling of programs along with IITs of your choice.
3. If you have been provided a seat at IIT Mandi ensure that you report online by uploading the necessary documents within the given time.
4. The candidate also needs to upload the documents and transfer the certificate in original from the previous institute / board in order to get the physical document verification over at IIT Mandi.
5. Where necessary try to obtain hostel accommodation on campus and follow the registration process.
6. To continue with your activities, you should attend the freshman orientation then begin registration for courses according to your branch. Begin attending classes.

1. Visit the official website of IIT Mandi and search for the link which is for admission of the candidate who has qualified in JEE Advanced.
2. The first one is to complete the web based application form including your identification information, academic achievement, prefer course etc and upload some documents if required.
3. While filling JEE Advanced form, you will be asked to fill choices of the exam center, make selection of IIT Mandi as one of your choices. These are the choices you fill decides alotment.
4. In case of being assigned a seat, pay for the admission fee through the online portal to secure the admission. Save or download the Provisional Admission letter.
5. In the physical form report to the institute on the date mentioned for admission with documents and fee receipt for the admission formalities like document verification.
6. After document verification process is completed, you are admitted in to B.Tech programme offered at IIT Mandi. This should be done during orientation where all the relevant documents and paperwork is to be filled and signed.
1. Basic eligibility criteria for any candidate is, you must have a bachelor’s degree from any university with the minimum of 50 % marks or its equivalent CGPA.
2. The short-listing of candidates will be done by considering CAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT scores or any other equivalent level test scores and then Personal Interview.
3. Formal experience is not required but if the person has prior experience then that will be a plus point.
4. Final selection is on the basis of marks in CAT/ other tests, academic achievements and work experience, and performance in the personal interview.
5. General category applicants require 60% marks in class 10, and 12 for their admission. Relaxation for reserved category candidates as per government policy.
6. Offer of admission is made once a candidate has been assessed and ranked according to a final composite score which includes test scores, academic performance, experience and interview marks as per specifications.
