IIIT Dharwad is a Government of India Ministry of Education autonomous institute which was established in 2016. It is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and acknowledged by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institute has received accreditation from NAAC with Grade A In the recently released NIRF 2023 ranking IIIT Dharwad stands at 65th position in India among engineering Institutes.
The institute afford BTech courses in Computer Science & Engineering Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Stream. It also offers MTech and PhD degrees in a range of disciplines linked to engineering and computer science fields. It is common to begin the admission process in January of each year for the BTech courses. Along with 12th board examination performance, students are admitted based on entrance examinations like JEE Mains, Karnataka CET and more. It is also important to note that the last date to apply for the BTech program for the joining year of 2024-25 would likely be in May of 2024. They are usually taken in the months of November/ December and April/ May of every academic year for semester system of study.
