Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is recognized as the premier livestock research, training and educational centre in the country. It was founded in 1989 and got accredited by ICAR and VCI and ‘A’ grade by NAAC. As per NIRF ranking in the year 2023, it stand 2nd in veterinary sciences institute.
On the basis of these programs IVRI provides education and training at under graduate, post graduate and doctoral levels in Veterinary Science, Animal Sciences, Livestock Production Management. The major streams are Veterinary Anatomy, Pharmacology, Medicine, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pathology, Public Health, Biochemistry. Some of the recruitment procedures include passing exams like the ICAR-AIEEA exam, JRF/SRF, and interviews. Admissions for the year 2024 are expected to open in march-April while the examinations will be held in the months of may-july.
IVRI indeed offers tremendous placement support for its graduates and postgraduates. Some of the major hirers are the state animal husbandry departments of governments, disease investigation units, dairy federations and private industry players like pharma companies involved in animal health care products, dairy and meat processing units.

1. The upper age limit to apply for job is 35 years for general candidates, 40 years for OBC and 45 years for SC/ST candidates as on the last date for applying for the post.
2. Qualification for Junior Research Fellowships, Senior Research Fellowships and PhDs: BVSc & AH with minimum 60% marks.
3. For technical posts, applicants must have technical diploma or degree, with minimum 60 % marks.
4. The industries shall reserve for the candidates of OBC, SC/ST and physically handicapped as per the rules and regulation of the government.
5. Must have met the qualification of other national level entrance tests such as CSIR-UGC NET for JRF and SRF.
6. There seems to be no restriction of the age and percentage of the marks for those candidates who are directly coming from outside for the admission in the PhD program.
