It is important to note that the eligibility criteria differ by department and that M.Sc. Economics: For becoming a student of Economics, one needs to possess at least a Bachelor of Economics degree and must have passed with a minimum of 50% marks. It has been approved to accept NET, GATE, CAT/MAT/CMAT/GPAT scores for entrance. For M.Sc. Development Policy & Practice which is a masters of science degree program. For Development Studies programmes, admission requirement include a first degree in any field with at least 50% average. The accepted tests are IGIDR EPT, CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/GPAT. The Institute also provides full-time and part-time PhD degrees in Development Studies, Economics, Data Sciences & Technology Policy.
The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai provides a number of courses in the areas of development studies, economic and related fields at the post graduate and Doctoral level. The admission process at IGIDR is annual for the students’ academic batch that joins in July.
IGIDR offers opportunities for the candidates as they can apply both online and offline. The online application can be completed by filling and submission of the application form displayed on the website www.igidr.ac.in during the period specified for this purpose. For offline mode, the candidates need to download the application form from the website and post it along with the essential documents or drop it at the IGIDR office.

The IGIDR or Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research which is located in Mumbai offers the undergraduate courses across varied fields ranging in the stream of Economics, development studies and data science. According to the course, the eligibility criteria is different for various UG courses. For BA Economics, the candidates must have passed Class 12th and obtain an average of 50% marks as the minimum cutoff. The CBSE, ICSE, state boards, IB and NIOS are recognized qualifying exams. For BSc Data Science, candidates should have cleared their 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as principal subjects and obtained a minimum of 60% of marks. As for acceptable exams, they should be the same as above. The B.A. Development Studies requires 50% in class 12th in any stream from recognized boards in India.
