1. Master’s degree programs are conducted for the candidates who have their Bachelor’s degree in any related field with minimum 50% marks from any recognized university.
2. Requirements for PhD degree are master’s degree in population studies, economics, sociology and statistics with minimum 55% marks.
3. For postgraduate diploma the basic admission criteria is a bachelor’s degree in any stream preferably with 50% marks from a recognized university.
4. The candidates who hold a graduation degree in any field with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university can register for the certificate programs.
5. Anyone from government, nonprofit organizations, and UN is eligible for masters and PhD programs with two years work experience.
6. Foreigners with bachelors can take masters courses if they passed the entrance examination and interview.
The International Institute for Population Sciences has the highest rate of placement as the major chunk of their students gets placed in reputed organizations every year ranging from 80-90% of the students. Some of the main employers in this field are United Nations Population Fund, Population Council, National Health Mission. The average pay scale of the candidates in this profession varies from INR 500,000 to INR 700,000 per annum. The largest previous placements till date have been of INR 16 lakhs per annum from analytics firm Mu Sigma.
