Jagannath University is a private university situated in Dhaka. It was established in 2005 and it has been accredited by the University Grants Commission UGC of bangladesh. Jagannath University was accredited grade B in the year 2021 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Jagannath University, Bangladesh was ranked at 101-150 for universities in the NIRF rankings in 2023.
This university has a variety of academic programs in place in different faculties. Some of the biggest faculties are the Business and Administration, Arts and Social Sciences, Education, Law, Engineering, and Technology. Some of the main course being taught include Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and so on The admission to the programs offered here opens in the month of March every year for the programs at the under graduate and post graduate level. KHEC entrance tests are held in May-June while the viva exams are also conducted at the same time. The calendar academic year is delivered in two semesters from January up to June and from July up to December. The exams are taken at the end of the semester as per the examination schedule.
There is partnership with over 200 leading national and multinational companies for the purposes of placements of students passing out from Jagannath University. Some of the main recruiters are Unilever Nestle, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited ACI Limited Banglalink Robi Axiata Limited etc. More than 60-65% of eligibles students have been placed in recent years. Jagannath University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For admission in any course, candidate must have pass in HSC or equivalent examinations with minimum GPA mentioned in the university policies depending upon merit and number of seats available.
2. As any other admission process, there are general and specific program requirements that need to be met including a minimum GPA score, combination of subjects according to university rules mentioned in the admission circular.
3. For master’s programs, candidates need a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with minimum university specified CGPA along with the condition that no 3rd division in any public exam will be allowed.
4. O & A Level, Polytechnic diploma holders, and overseas universities degree needs to submit Equivalence certificates from concerned authority to prove eligibility.
5. There are set aside provisions on quotas for freedom fighters, tribal population etc A few programs may have additional requirements about area of residence etc as declared.
6. In addition to academic accreditation, centralized admission test, counseling, and merit list preparation for final selection till they become a university process, is offered to the eligible candidates.
