JIS University Kolkata is one among the private universities in the city Kolkata of West Bengal. Established in 2014 and situated in Jaipur, JIS University is acknowledged by UGC and has NAAC accreditation with B++ grade. In NIRF 2023 ranking, JIS University was found 151 amongst Universities in India. 

The university provides education at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level across disciplines spread over engineering, management, sciences, liberal arts information studies, education and law. Among the various courses that it provides, some of the most sought after ones include BTech, MBA, BBA, BCA, BA, BSc, BEd, LLB and so on. Some of the best recruiters at the campus are Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Deloitte, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank etc. Every year more than 85% of the eligible students get placement and the highest salary has been of INR 1800000. The pay scale can vary based on the course and it lies in between 4-6 LPA per annum. The Placement Cell also works on the corporate readiness of the students by providing trainings in different areas such as aptitude, soft skill, interview skill, group discussion etc.

JIS University Kolkata has been reported to have good records in recent years. Some of the giant corporates which have hired the students from the university are Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant. The maximum salary offered in 2021 was of 16 LPA by Infosys followed by an average salary of approximately 4 LPA. More than eighty five percent of students get placed each year in all the programs as Engineering, Pharmacy and Management etc. Some of the areas that offer employment to students include: Information technology, consulting, pharmaceutical, and financial sectors.
