Karnataka State Law University (KSLU): A state law university located in Hubli, Karnataka, India. KSLU was set up in the year 2009 by the Government of Karnataka under the Karnataka State Law University Act 2009, the University is recognized by the Bar Council of India and acknowledged by the University Grant Commission (UGC). At present, it has been accredited by NAAC and carries an ‘A’ grade; it is primarily meant for the legal education in the state. As per the NIRF Ranking System of India, the KSLU has been placed at 65th position from all the law universities in the country in the recently announced NIRF Rankings 2023.
Undergraduate and postgraduate courses in law are provided by KSLU are BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB, LLM and PhD. This is always in May every year. Champion 5-year integrated law degrees require KSLU entrance test scores, while LLM qualifications require aggregate performance on LLB exams and interviews. For the examination session to be held in the academic year 2024, the following important date are expected: KSLU entrance examination will be held in June 2023, Application form will be accepted till July 2023 and Merit list for the admission will be published in August 2023. Intake periods are typically in August and January for the semesters. Apart from conventional programs of BA, B.Com and BBA, KSLU offers diploma and certificates in cyber law, tax law, human rights among many others in a systematic manner.

Karnataka State Law University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For the undergraduates courses like as BA LLB and BBA LLB, candidates have to qualify the 10+2 or any equivalent exam with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST category).
2. For postgraduate law programs like LLM, candidates should have passed their under graduate law degree (LLB/BL) with not less than 50% marks aggregate (45% for SC/ST) as per anil.
3. For PG diploma programs, the applicant should have a graduation degree in any discipline with minimum 45% marks for open category applicants and 40% marks for SC/ST applicants. Any prior work experience may be considered as relevant.
4. To be considered for the PhD programs, the candidates must have passed their post graduation in law or LLM and should have secured at least 55% marks for the general category candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST category. It is also important that the candidate has passed a relevant national level examination for the particular stream.
5. For the certificate courses, aspirants, generally, need the 10+2 examination qualification. Where specific training programs apply, it is fine-tuned to award credits for specific skill-based programs that require other prerequisites.

Karnataka College of Law: This college is also known as Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in law. Undergraduate programs for the KSLU are the Three-Year LLB Program and the Five-Year Integrated BA LLB/BBA LLB Programme. The LLB qualification is an undergraduate programme that includes basic legal subjects such as the constitution, legal systems, civil and criminal justice. These integrated programs include arts/management and law courses as the core courses of the program.
In the post graduate level, KSLU provides wonderful opportunity of 2 years LLM in various fields such as business law, intellectual property rights law, criminal law and constitutional law.
