Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University or KSRDPRU is a state University in Bangalore, Karnataka. KSRDPRU was founded in 2016 according to Karnataka State Universities Act and is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In 2016, it has received accreditation grade ‘B’ from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council NAAC. According to NRA ranking 2023, KSR DPARU is not in top 100 University list of India. The university provides education and training in rural fields and disciplines connected with it. KSRDPRU is sprawling over an area of 53 acres and comprises of all basic and sophisticated facilities such as laboratories, library, sports complex, and accommodation for the students.
KSRDPRU provides numerous UG, PG and Ph.D courses in fields like Rural Development, Social Work, Business Administrator, Commerce, Arts and Science etc. Some of the most sought after courses are MSW, MBA, MCA, M.Sc in Food Science, and Agriculture, and Forestry. They use entrance examinations to admit students to the university. In some courses, the admission is done depending on the merit of the students in their qualifying examinations. Entrance tests usually come with examination dates in the months of May and June.
KSRDPRU include government institutions and NGOs which provide internship and placement opportunities for the graduating students. The notable employers include NABARD, food processing industry, cooperative banks, self help groups and central/state government rural development schemes.
