Kolhan University, Chaibasa provides a number of Bachelors and Masters degree programs in arts, science commerce, management, law and education streams. Some of the disciplines of the university, as well as the requirements for the undergraduate level, include B.A. and Arts, require 10+2 in science stream with subjects depending on the chosen specialization, B.Com for which the candidate needs to have passed 10+2 in any stream with mathematics/business mathematics, BBA that requires 10+2 in any stream and LLB that requires a bachelor’s degree in any stream. The exams acknowledged for admission across courses include JAC, CBSE, ICSE among others. The university in postgraduate level provides a range of courses such as M.A. for English, Hindi, Sanskrit etc and for this a relevant bachelor’s degree is demanded, M.Sc. in areas of Concentration such as Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics with a B.Sc. in respective specialization, M.Com with B.Com and LLM with an LLB qualification.

Kolhan University at Chaibasa has a number of Departments which provides different of courses of Bachelors degree programme. For admission in the BA course like Economics, History, Sociology, Hindi, and Philosophy candidate must pass 12th standard examination from any recognized Board with 45% marks. Some of the exams that are accredited include CBSE, ISC, and Jharkhand Board exams. For BCom, the candidates should pass class 12th with mathematics/business mathematics and shall secure 50% marks in aggregate. Students who wish to apply for BCA have to pass 12th standard with mathematics as a mandatory subject and minimum 50% of marks. Diploma in computer science engineering cleared applicants are also eligible to apply.
Undergraduate level programmes of studies are presented by the University in such fields of study as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, BSW, BLib and others.
Kolhan University established in Chaibasa, Jharkhand is running several post graduate courses in different fields. The requirement for admission also differs depending on the specific school or department that a student intends to join. For M.A. programs such as English, Hindi, History, Political Science, and Economics, candidates require a bachelor’s degree in the particular subject with minimum 50% of the total marks. Only CUET, JET and some exams of Kolhan University are permitted to take admission. For M.Com, the minimum eligibility is B.Com degree, 50% marks and CUET, JET, university exams are considered. M.Sc. courses like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Geography are some of the courses that require a B.Sc. respectively, in the respective subject with fifty percent marks. CUET, JET and university exams are accredited. M.Tech and MCA programs require qualifications of Bachelor’s degree in the relevant branch of Engineering/Technology/Computer Applications securing 60% marks and GATE/University examinations.
PG courses of the University are as under: M.A. in English, Political Science, History, Hindi, Economics, M.Com, M.Sc. It offers degree programs in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geography, Master of Computer Applications, Master of Technology in various engineering disciplines among others.
Kolhan University located in Chaibasa, Jharkhand is a University level institution that provides PhD in various departments of Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Santali, Zoology etc. The minimum requirement of percentage required for admission to the PhD program across departments is 55% or its equivalent in Postgraduate degree. Certain departments also allow candidates with NET, GATE, or SET qualification to appear for the exam. For instance, Commerce department acknowledges UGC NET, Economics acknowledges both UGC NET and JRF, and Psychology acknowledges UGC NET. The degree recognized by the Santali department is the MPhil degree candidate.
