Ranchi Women’s College is one of the leading women colleges in Ranchi of Jharkhand. It was founded in the year 1960 and is approved by the UGC and holds NAAC accreditation which is B++ grade. According to NIRF in 2023 ranking, it occupied 56th position in the list of colleges. It provides all the university degree courses in both under graduate and post graduate programs in arts, science, commerce and management stream. It is a premier institution currently with more than 2000 students where emphasis on academic achievements and personality development of the students is given paramount importance..
The college provides various kinds of programs of study across faculties. The B.A. honors programs are available in subjects like English, Economics, Hindi, History, Psychology, etc. B.Sc. Some of honours streams are Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, etc B.Com. The Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Analysis degrees are fairly common. It normally goes through merit lists and is usually in May every year. They sit for examinations which are normally conducted in the month of march- April. Some of them are in the field of eligibility criteria for the candidates from Jharkhand. For special needs students, there are also scholarships which are given to deserving and financially challenged students.
