Krishna University is established as a state public university in the year 2005 located at Machilipatnam of Andhra Pradesh. It was set up in the year 2008, and it is now affiliated to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is NAAC accredited with the ‘B++’ grade. Krishna University ranked in NIRF India Rankings 2023 at 68th position in overall rating among the Universities in India.
The university has 9 faculties under which it offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Pharmacy, Education, Management, Computer Applications and other disciplines. Some of the preferred programs include the four-year-under-graduation programs such as BA, BSc, BCom, LLB, BE/BTech, BPharm, BEd programs, the two-year post-graduation programs like MBA, MCA and the research programs MPhil and PhD programs. The admission process usually starts in May every year in which the students are allowed to apply either through online or other means. Some programs may also have entrance assessments. Written exams are conducted towards the end of November, November/December while results are released in January.

Krishna University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For undergraduate programs there are admission requirements that requires students to have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination but the requisite marks differs from one program to the other. Arts and Commerce students must have 35% to 40% marks for admission into Management Courses while science and engineering students need 45% to 50% marks in relevant subjects.
2. In general, students seeking admission to postgraduate programs should possess a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Minimum mark for graduation is higher for different courses but is usually 50-55% for Arts/Commerce and 60% for Science/Engineering.
3. For MPhil and PhD, admission seekers should have a masters degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% marks. They also have to pass an entrance test and undergo a written test to test the candidate’s research orientation.
4. For professional programs like MCA and MBA a bachelor degree with Mathematics at +2 level is preferred. This is 50% Pass marks conducted in Semester System in Graduation. This is good for those who want to qualify for the relevant entrance exam.
5. SC/ST candidates and candidates with disability there is a concession of five percent marks in the minimum passing marks in all courses.
