Established in 2008 Krishna University is located in Machilipatnam of Andhra Pradesh state. They include different undergraduate and postgraduate programs under various fields such as arts, science, commerce, law, education, pharmacy and engineering. Regarding the eligibility criteria, clearly it also differs from one department to another. BA also requires 12th or equivalent in any stream with minimum 50% passing marks for the students. BSc programs call for 12th Science background with subjects such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry and the likes With 50 % marks. The candidate must have completed 12th in any group preferably maths, accounts, commerce or Economics with minimum of 45% marks for BCom. To have a eligibility for LLB course the candidate should possess a bachelor degree of any stream with minimum 45% marks. To pursue the BEd program, the candidate must have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in a relevant subject with at least 50% marks. The programs as MSc, MA, MCom require a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with minimum 50% marks. BPharm+Mpharm need 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Maths subjects and a minimum pass percentage of 60%. In the case of BE/BTech, the students must have passed 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and have at least 60% of aggregate. These are the qualifying tests permitted TS Intermediate/TOSS, AP Senior Secondary Education, CBSE, CISCE, NIOS, etc.
The university provides Undergraduate, Postgraduate and integrated courses under various faculties such as Arts, Science, Education, Law, Pharmacy, Engineering & Technology, Commerce & Management. Some of the courses offered are BA, BSc, BCom, LLB, BPharm, MSc, MA, MCom, BE/BTech among others The admission dates and important examination dates of 2024 are posted on the university website. It’s usually done in May while entrance tests like KRU-PGCET, KRUCET etc are done in June. Additional counselling sessions in July-August based on the candidate’s rank/merit. The classes for new session start in the August in every year. The payment of fees, verification of documents and submission of various reports takes place in the colleges which are alloted according to the counselling schedule that is provided. Documents Required for Admission in KU Machilipatnam for Different Courses:
- In taking students, the university considers its rankings in the state-level entrance exam called AP EAMCET which stands for ANDHRA PRADESH ENGINEERING AGRICULTURAL AND MEDICAL COMMON ENTRANCE TEST.
- The AP EAMCET exam is mandatory to clear to get the admission and the students have to score the minimum prescribed cut off marks.
- Then according to the EAMCET rank, the rank secured in the AP state, category rank, special category rank etc., the student gets the seat through counseling session.
- Some rules like reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories of candidates as per the govt norms are followed.
- Other factors include the AP EAMCET ranks but other criterion based on minimum academic qualification and the subjects offered. For example, the candidate is expected to have passed at least Intermediate (10+2) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- If there is a tie between the two contenders in terms of ranks, then the candidate having higher marks in the qualifying examination, i.e., the Intermediate examination, will be considered. In case there is still a tie breakage, then the older candidates by age will be offered the seats.

2. Go through the criteria of eligibility, number of seat available, reservation and quota policies etc. carefully. Ensure that you fulfill all the requirements of the eligibility criteria such as age, regional, and language.
3. On the apply online link, one has to start registering himself/herself with the help of some basic details like name, contact numbers, etc.
4. Complete the application form accurately as it will be used as the basis for processing your application. Scan and upload photograph and signature, and other documents needed such as certificates/marksheets etc as required.
5. The applicants are expected to pay the application fee online through payment gateways that are offered. Submit the form.
6. After completing the application form and payment process, the applicant will be able to download and print the filled application form and fee receipt for other purposes in future.
7. You should wait for the day the management announces the list of provisionally selected candidates and check the merit list.
8. If shortlisted, go for counseling as and when the session is scheduled for you. Carry documents that show compliance with the required admission requirements as well as fees for admission.
9. It is the last stage where students need to complete admission formalities, document verification and admission fee to join the institute.
- There is no entrance examination for admission to the undergraduate programs as the admission to each program depends on the performance of the students in the intermediate/10+2 examination.
- Another criterion that might be included during the admission process is the entrance test that the university offers for some programs.
- As mentioned earlier, pass marks also differ from category to category depending on the percentage obtained. It varies depending upon the course and type of student, but it is normally in the range of 45-50% for the general category. In this case, students of reserved categories would have certain concessions.
- Other than marks, admission committees also look at the group taken in 10+2 (MPC/BiPC etc.) as well as subjects related to the B.Sc course for which applied.
- In addition to academic results, admissions can also take into account the state level ranking and percentage as well if available.
- The final merit list and selection is depending on the Test Score if appearing, Qualifying Examination Marks/CGPA, Option Subject and finally category wise.
