Kumaun University is one of the state universities with its main campus located in Kumaun region of uttarakhand, india. It was established in 1973 and is UGC recognized and has NAAC grade B accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. In the NIRF rankings of 2023, Kumaun University is at the position of 151-200 for universities across India. The university provides the education at the levels of the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in humanities, commerce, natural and social sciences, law, education.
Kumaun University also has a number of faculties with courses offered in each of them. Its most sold courses are under graduate and post graduate programmes such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BSW, MA, MSc, MCom, MSW, MCA and integrated courses like MBBS. In addition, entry into the university is on merit in the qualifying examination as is the case with other universities in the country. Kumaun University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For the undergraduate courses, the candidate should have passed 12th from a recognized board and for the graduation degree, minimum percentage depends on the course.
2. For PG programs, the bachelor’s degree is compulsory which should be related to the selected PG course minimum 50% is mandatory.
3. For MPhil, the above qualification of a postgraduate degree with 55% marks and the qualification in the entrance test is essential.
4. To appear for the PhD, a candidate must possess a post graduate degree with minimum 55% marks along with the qualification in entrance test.
5. The basic requirement is 10+2 pass or graduation for diploma and certificate program depending upon the course offered.
6. All rules related to reservation and relaxations in the eligibility criteria for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be as per the norms of the respective Indian Government policy.
Kumaun University Placements 2024
Placements and packages over the course of years at Kumaun University. In the last campus placements, various big giants like TATA Consultancy Services TCS, Infosys and Wipro offered jobs to the Kumaun students In which the highest salary package offered was Rs 120000 per annum and the average package offered was Rs 40000 to Rs 60000 per annum. The placement cell has helped in getting students placed in, the best banking firms and the average pay scale offered is Rs 3-4 lakhs. The placement ratio has also increased from average of 45-50% prevalent five years back to over 70% at present for Computer Science, MBA and Engineering graduates.
