Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) is deemed university under ministry of youth affairs & sports, Government of India. LNIPE has been accredited with grade ‘A’ by NAAC and is ranked 41 in NIRF India Rankings 2023 in Overall category. The institute operates under the administrative jurisdiction of the Sports Authority of India and offers education in the fields of physical education and sports science. 1. BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (B.P.Ed) Passed 10 + 2 with minimum 50 % marks and having at least a Participation in Inter College/Inter Zonal/ District/ School competition in sports and games as per AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India.
2. Bachelor of Sports Science (BSc) 10 + 2 or equivalent examination, 50% marks with Science and English as compulsory subjects.
3. Master of Physical Education (MPEd) – BPEd / B.Sc (Health & Physical Education) with 50% marks.
4. MSc in Sports Medicine – This program is eligible for candidates who have completed Bachelors degree in physiotherapy/BSc Nursing /MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BPT/B.Pharm/BSc (MLT)/BOT with 50% marks
5. MSc in Sports Nutrition BSc degree in Nutrition/Physiology/Biochemistry/Home Science/Sports Sciences with 50% marks.
6. PhD – A Master’s degree in Physical Education or Master’s Degree in Sports Science with at least 55% marks or any other degree as per UGC guidelines.
LNIPE is offering different Under Graduate, Post Graduate, and Ph.D. courses in physical education, sports sciences and related subjects. The institute is centered on producing professionals in fields such as sports coaching, management, psychology, physiology, rehabilitation, nutrition, etc.
LNIPE provides undergraduate programs such as BPEd (four years) and BSc in sports coaching (three years). Courses available for postgraduates are MPEd for two years, MPhil for two years and Master of Arts in sports journalism and communication for two years. The doctoral programme, PhD takes about 2-5 years.
It has well-equipped athletic fields for training in athletics, swimming, martial arts, gymnasium, and many other related activities.
