Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, situated in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, provides a wide array of the undergraduate and postgraduate program in the faculties as Arts, Commerce, Science, Education, Management, Law, and Computer Applications. It is different for every department. The B.A. programs under different subjects like Economics, English, Hindi the candidate should have passed 12th examination with the minimum percentage of marks while for M.A programs one must have done their bachelors degree in respective subjects. MBA and MCA programs also have extra entrance examinations such as CAT/MAT. These include the B.Com program which is an undergraduate program that deals with accounting, taxation, finance and marketing, M.Com program which is a postgraduate program that deals with accounting, taxation, finance and marketing. B.Sc. / M.Sc. is available in areas like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, which prescribes 12th/ B.Sc. in relevant subjects. B.Ed., M.Ed. Programs that are used to train tuition teachers are known as preparation programs. The integrated law programs, as has already been stated, involve passing 12th exams. Students are also accepted based on performances in national/state exams as well as by recommendation for special programs.
The university has released the timetable for exams for the current year as well as admission schedules for the 2024 intakes in faculties. Annual examinations and other competitive examinations like PET/RET for B. Ed./M.Ed. are in June-July 2024 while admission tests for MBA and MCA are in April 2024. For undergraduate programs in arts, science, commerce and computer applications the online applications will be from June 2024 on merit basis after declaration of 12th results. These post graduate programs will commence admission after graduation tests by respective college(s) of the university. It begins with registration through online forms and submission of documents along with checking of the eligibility of the candidates and then preparation of merit lists, lists for reserved categories, and finally lists that take into account seats available in various colleges affiliated to the university. The next academic session is expected to commence from third week of August, 2024.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Performance in PET (Pre-Entrance Test) conducted by the university – The candidates are required to obtain specific minimum qualifying marks in the PET exam to introduce them for admission.
2. For the purpose of ranking, marks scored by candidates in the qualifying examination: B.Sc/ B.C.B.S/ B.Tech will be considered. Per cent ages and CGPA will be preferred, and percentages and CGPA will be preferred in higher percentages.
3. Number of attempts to clear the qualifying exam will be considered – Candidates clearing the qualifying exam for the examination in less number of attempts may be given preference.
4. Reservation according to government rules – Seats will be kept for the applicants of reserved quota such as SC, ST, OBC, and EWS as per the government norms.
5. Extra requirements that may be used in case of equal results include age, income and experience - The most common example of secondary screening criteria if two applicants had equal results on the tests are older age, lower family income, or lack of experience in the field.
1. As for M.Sc admissions note, they may be posted on the university website or in advertisement. This will contain information on courses offered, a list of requirements, deadlines, etc.
2. Choose the specific postgraduate M.Sc course that you wish to apply for and make sure you meet the requirements set by the university in terms of academic achievement, the percentage you need to have to be considered for the course among other requirements as stated by the university.
3. Obtain the application form for admission into the M.Sc programme from the university or download the same from the university website. Thoroughly comprehend all the directions given before proceeding with the reading.
4. All documents required to be attached along with the application form, such as mark sheets from 10th onwards, caste certificate, if the candidate belongs to any reserved category, and other relevant proofs.
5. Complete and submit the application form and be sure to enter correct information about education, personal, and contact information in the application. Make sure there are no inaccuracies and that all information is correct. Enclose photocopies of documents as required.
6. In the notification, get all the application fees either online or through a demand draft if required. Enclose payment proof in relation to the fees charged correspondingly.
7. Enclose all the required documents along with the filled and signed M.Sc admission application form and submit it before the last date at the respective department or center of the University or mail/post it. Keep acknowledgment.
1. The candidate should have passed the Master’s Degree examination in the special area concerned with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
2. By the way, the candidate must pass an entrance test, which is taken by all entrants of the University. This can be research methodology and/or subject related.
3. On the basis of the result of written test, the candidates are short-listed and called for an interview.
4. In the interview, the candidate is asked about his or her research interests as well as the academic history and work experience in case the candidate has work experience.
5. The selection process as been organized in a way that will see a candidate being selected through the written test and the interview test.
6. Further, the candidates need to present a proposed research area when attending an interview for the programme. The process of selection is also assisted through the evaluation of the proposal.
7. Often the candidates belonging to the reserved category may have the slight relaxation in the eligibility norms as per government guidelines.
8. In the final stage of the process, selected candidates are required to undergo certain courses in research methodology before they embark on the real research ventures.
