MPUAT Udaipur is a state university which provides different undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different stream of agricultural sciences. While the specific requirements may differ depending on the department and course being taken. Agri Business and Rural Management provides BSc in Agri Business and MBA in Agribusiness which can be pursued after 50% score in 12th (passing in any stream) and any graduate can apply for it. For the BTech programmes like Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology, the minimum requirement is 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the 12th level. MPUAT offers admission to national level examinations such as JEE Mains, RPET, CAT, MAT and REAP examination conducted at state level.
The University provides education in the fields of Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral in faculties of Agriculture, Home Science, Basic Science, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture and Forestry. These include BSc Agriculture, MSc Horticulture, MSc Biotechnology, BTech Food Technology, BFSc Fisheries Science, BSc Home Science and many others. This is done through application release which begins in May every year. Some specific entrance examinations are held till June-July such as REAP, RFST etc. The counselling and admission rounds occur in August-September on the grounds of merit as well as the entrance test conducted for the academic session starting in October. The tentative dates for issuing REAP 2024 is expected to be on second week of June. While RFST dates are the last week of June, 2024. Likely, the application, counselling, and admission processes for the 2024-25 academic year may begin on these dates as well.
The MPUAT Udaipur offered admissions to the various under graduate and post graduate courses in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and other related fields. Students can apply for the admission either through online mode by visiting the official website of the university i.e mpuat.ac.in or through offline mode.
To apply online, go to the MPUAT website and navigate to the ‘Admissions’ page. Choose the program of interest, complete the application form and attach scanned copies of relevant documents if required. Submit the application fee through online mode. Retain a copy of the form completed and take a print out of it for future use.
For offline application the candidate is required to obtain the application form in person from the University cash counter for the prescribed fees. Complete the form and submit the form along with self-attested copies of the documents. The filled application form should be forwarded to the Registrar’s office before the deadline. Admissions are merit based which indicates that the candidate’s performance on the qualifying examination and or entrance tests determines his/her admission. University declares cut-off marks for various programmes and those who have secured equal or more than the cut-off marks are given counselling and document verification.
- Navigate to the official website of the university to view updates on the admission of students into the PhD program. There is usually a section on admissions or academics that contains further information.
- Check any advertisement or notification issued by the university for the admission of the PhD programme for the current academic session. Such usually contain timelines, number of available seats and other requirements for admission, among others.
- Try to find online newspapers or official press release about the admission to PhD in MPUAT Udaipur. At times such announcements are given by the local media sources.
- Contact the university directly and talk to the admissions office or the graduate studies office regarding the status, process, deadline etc concerning the application to the PhD program for the current admission season.
- As for the degree, the candidate must have passed Master of Philosophy in the concerned subject with not less than 55% marks.
- This is through a test that is set by the University for admittance to the University. The exam checks research skills, subject content knowledge, as well as current affairs.
- Those, who pass the written examination, are invited for an interview/viva-voce examination. The interview evaluates academic achievement, research aptitude and area of concern, verbal ability, etc.
- The selection process is concluded by the performance of candidates in the written test and an interview. As per the government rules, there is a provision for reservations in the selection process.
- Besides, candidates who have qualified the UGC/CSIR-NET JRF exam, DBT-JRF exam, ICAR-JRF exam, etc. can directly register for the PhD program provided other conditions are met.
- Some of the PhD scholars require course work as per university norms before embarking on intensive research work under the supervision of faculties in the respective department/research center.
1. Look for the university website or the advertisement where they announce Ph.D. admission. This usually appears in national newspapers and on the university’s website, if not in the newsletter.
2. Choose the department and the area of research you wish to apply for; check the requirements of the university in terms of education, experience, etc.
3. Get the Ph.D. application form either online from the university website or in person from the university.
4. Ensure that the application form is fully completed with all details and supporting documents, including photocopies of degrees, experience certificates, research proposal, etc.
5. Enclose any application fees, which are often in form of a bank draft and return the application form to the university either online or on physical submission within the set deadlines.
6. Sit for and pass any written exams and interviews that may be conducted during the Ph.D admission process.
7. If offered a place, follow the admission process by providing original documents and other fees as required by the university.
