The Ajmer University as it is commonly known is a state university situated in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. It was established in 1987 and currently it has 276 colleges with more than 2 lakh students at its campus. MDSU Ajmer has been accredited with NAAC grading and has been graded B++. According to the NIRF Ranking 2023, it has been ranked under Band 101-150 universities.

The university lists several undergraduate, post graduate, diploma and certification programs across subjects of sciences commerce arts education law and several others. Some of the most sought after courses are B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, M.A, M.Com, M.Sc, M.Ed, L.L.B, B.B.A, M.C.A, B.C.A etc. The annual / semester examinations for these courses are common in Nov/Dec and May/June. The admission process begins in may-june each year where students can apply online and off-line through the submission of forms. Students selection is done on merit which is determined by the students performance in the schools and the university entrance test. 

MDSU Ajmer offers campus placements through the corporate drives conducted by leading companies like ICICI, HDFC, Nestle, Decathlon, Concentrix, etc. The placement rate is 80% in various sectors such as management, IT /Computer Science, science and engineering fields. The Placement Record for Batch 2023 revealed that the highest salary offered was 18 LPA while on an average the salary was between 2.5-6 LPA. Some of the prominent recruiters are Infosys, Wipro, JustDial, Concentrix, Byju’s and many more companies.

Placement statistics show that Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University Ajmer is relatively good in placing its pass outs in the industry. During the campus placements in the session 2022-23, over 65 companies were established where around 60 percent of the eligible students were placed. The leading companies which hired the students were ICICI Bank, Ernst and Young, Genpact, Tech Mahindra, Concentrix and First American. The maximum package offered to the students in campus interview was 11.3 LPA as against the median salary package of 2.3 LPA. In terms of placements more than 120 students got placed offering average salary packages of 2 to 5 LPA.
