Maharshi Dayanand University is a state university located in Rohtak, Haryana and was established in the year 1998. It was set up in the year 1976, where it is accredited ‘A+’ grade by NAAC and recently was ranked 101-150 in NIRF Ranking 2023 of India. MDU provides over 135 courses in field of science/ commerce, engineering, dental sciences, education, Law, management, Pharmacy, physiotherapy and many more.
A large university system is located in several areas of the country, and 10 faculties are introduced. There are several courses available for undergraduate and postgraduate programs and admission is given on merit basis in the previous qualifying examination. Some of the important exams conducted in the state for admission purposes are CET for technical courses, LET for law, PRE MCA and CPMT for medical courses etc. This is usually in May of each year depending on the institution of your choice. For the next year’s batch, that is, for the batch of 2024, the application forms will be available from April-May, 2023. They are conducted in June-July and their results are announced in August-September. Pre- registration counseling is conducted in July-August before the beginning of the new academic year.
The companies that participated in the placement drive at MDU are also reputed and have a successful track record. The leading recruiters in 2022 were TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Deloitte, KPMG, E&Y, Jaro Education, Byju’s, Zomato, etc. About 5000+ offers made in the campus placement drive 2022 with the highest domestic package of INR 43.33 LPA and average package ranging between 4-7 INR LPA. Many sectors are presently involved in recruiting students for employment; the primary sectors include IT/software, e-commerce, education, engineering & manufacturing, and consulting & analytics. The placement cell offers training besides availing opportunities that will cater to the potential employers annually.

Maharshi Dayanand University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
Undergraduate:
10+2 pass with minimum percentage required for each stream; some of them have their own entrance test; few integrated courses that accept student after class X
Postgraduate:
The candidate should have completed his / her Bachelors Degree in the relevant discipline with the minimum percentage; some courses require the candidate to write an entrance examination.
Diploma:
At least 10+2 pass with minimum percentage; few diploma courses also have certain norms which are more or less similar to the undergraduate courses.
PhD:
50 % marks in Master’s degree in the relevant subject; cleared UGC/CSIR NET/SLET/ M.Phil as per UGC regulation 2009 or has received teachers fellowship from any central/state agency.
Professional courses:
For BEd, MBBS, Law etc. Programs, the candidates need to fulfill the norms set by national statutory bodies as well as any norms that are set by the university.
Distance education:
Depending upon the programme: more or less follows the regular programme pattern with slight relaxations as per the UGC open and distance learning regulations.
