Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, abbreviated as MGKVP, is a renowned university in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh particularly in the historic city of Varanasi. Founded in 1921, this institution has also been accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC or National Assessment and Accreditation Council. As per the NIRF rankings 2023 that were recently released, MGKVP has been placed at the 151st position in the Overall University Ranking in India. Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. The minimum eligibility criterion for applying for undergraduate programs is 10+2 pass or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). There are aspects which are common across programs and others which differ based on the subject being taught.
2. In order to apply for postgraduate programs, a candidate needs to possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for general candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Some of the specializations may have other requirements that one has to meet before being considered for an internship.
3. For MPhil program, the applicant must have a postgraduate degree in relevant stream with at least 55% marks in aggregate and qualifying score in the entrance examination For admission to PhD, the candidate must have MPhil/MS degree in the relevant field with 55% marks in aggregate and qualifying marks in the entrance test. Proposal for research should also be submitted.
4. The formalities of the applicants such as the 10th and 12th mark-sheets, graduation/post-graduation certificates, caste certificate if any, domicile certificate, Aadhar card.
5. The process of admission include filling an online application form, uploading and submitting scanned copies of required documents, paying the application fee, appearing for entrance test, and selection through merit basis.
