Mahatma Gandhi University Ri-Bhoi has numerous programs of study for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels offered across the science, arts, commerce, computer applications, social work, and education faculties. Eligibility differs from department and course – to get into BSc programs, a student has to pass class 12th with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. BA programs accept class 12th pass in any discipline whereas BCom require 50% in class 12th with mathematics / accounts. CBSE, ICSE and State Boards are the only acceptable qualifying examination.
The university provides all programs in the semester system. Students can apply online or offline and the fees structure of the institutions is shown below. It offers admission to the next academic session and the process of application begins from the month of May every year. Application form and prospectus can be had from the official website or by applying to the administrative office by paying a nominal charges.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Photo identity proof as Aadhaar card, Voter ID card or Driving License as a proof of identity and age.
2. Secondary School education: The certificate of Secondary school examination registration and mark-sheet for Class 10.
3. Certificate and Marksheet of the standard 12nd which shows the qualification for higher secondary education.
4. Class 12 education board certificate showing that you are competent to migrate.
5. Caste certificate if you wish to come under reserved category SC, ST or OBC.
6. Scholarships and fee concessions for which your parents’/guardians’ income certificate may be required.
1. Pre-eligibility criterion – The candidates should have cleared their class XII or equivalent qualification in science stream with the normalized passing marks as per DUT guidelines.
2. Acquire the application form - Application forms may be downloaded from the internet or may be obtained from the university administration.
3. Applicants should ensure that they complete all forms with all necessary information and submit them before the last date with the application Fee.
4. Time to appear for entrance test – Depending on the requirements, the candidate has to sit for the university’s entrance test on the dates fixed for this purpose.
5. Recheck merit list - University publishes provisional merit list of the candidates on the basis of entrance test percentile as well as Class 12 performance.
6. Some important steps are Counseling – The candidates are counseled as per the merit list where they choose the course and college.
7. This makes up the final form of admission since document verification, payment of fees and seat allocation are prerequisites in the admission process.
